Guess what? Now you can ask ppl to pay to get into your rooms! Great option for a cafe or a game!

As a Quest Maker, you'll be able to set Turnstiles to 4 different costs (0 credits, 5 Credits, 50 Credits and 100 Credits). As a Quester, players will be able to see the type of Quest offered as well as the prizes available for that Quest before they enter a turnstile. Quests are not the only uses for the turnstile, I can see rides, cafes and exclusive events all taking advantage of this option. We'll be testing turnstiles and entry fees for rooms over the next few weeks.

Awesome, right?? I think so!

You know... they are trying to get people to stop muling right?

Well, now not only can you mule, but you can TRANSFER THE CREDITS STRAIGHT UP!

Does Yavn's left hand have any clue what his right hand is doing?

So before it was a bannable offense to charge for quests... and now it is going to be OK???? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Oh WOW Very good poiunt mlthdoc.. never thought of that.. yeah there not soundin too good now. lol

how do you know he's right handed? :rotfl:

So what, you set your mule up on a short river going round and round with a couple of credit chargers on the ride. This is about the funniest thing I've heard all week. :lmao:

I won't be paying to get into rooms but I know that won't stop 99% of the rest of vmk from using them. :( I have a hard enough time getting credits I won't be giving them away without a good thing in trade. Sorry VMK, dumbest idea yet.

I can see 2 sides to this. The people that spend a lot of time making and running quests and giving prizes, this is a nice thing for them. They can charge a small fee and that will help buy more prizes. seems pretty fair to me...

BUT I see the potential for a LOT of abuse. Charging to get into a room that says FREE STUFF, you get in to find there isn't any or they are out. How often in VMK are room titles not at all what is really in there and if you have to pay to get into them, it is going to be even worse. I can see people doing rooms just to get credits and just think of what that will open. We all know what the minds of VMK players can do and the scams they can come up with.

Sounds like a legit way to charge people for your quest/new room efforts to me. Also sounds like if they fail in the quest, they got to pay to get back in again. And if they win, they have free access?

And Cat girl.. you mean to tell me if I made something new and asked for a portion of it from passer by peeps (be it a ride, game, or quest) to help fund current and future ideas.. you wouldn't be down with that? :(

You are going to charge me to spent time with you??? Back home in the piney woods we have a name for people like that and it wasn't very nice. LOL
So friendship has a price on it now -- how very sad. :(

This is what I was thinking too.

I can see people doing all sorts of evil things. Like having a legit quest, but the quest will make you go in and out of the room every other turn. Go in the room: 100 credits, start quest, go to dragon, go back to room and find skull: 100 credits, go to ned, go back to room and find another skull: 100 credits.

I can see this happening. I hope VMK staff thought this through and maybe we're paranoid for nothing. I hope when they do this, it's not as bad as we know it could be.

The ONLY side of this that I can see that makes sense to me is the flowing:

Quests most often have prizes. VMK does not assist in providing these prizes to the players who choose to run quests for the entertainment and enjoyment of other players. These prizes can quickly add up.

The idea that minimal credits per "quest doer" can be given to the quest maker, DOES help offset the costs of these prizes.

Since the machine requires players to "approve" the charge they are going to be assessed before it transfers the credits, the scenerio of a quest making someone go in and out of a room would only happen if players agreed to go with it, which is doubtful.

Now, that said - this is the ONLY part of this machine that I like. Just seems like way too many ways for players to try to take advantage of others with it. But, I guess we will have to wait and see. (Not that I expect to be able to afford it, but.....)

Wow you all are bringing up very good points. I guess I do not have the ability to think ahead what an evil mind can do. Thanks for the heads up!

Another good logical idea that can be trashed by a few if not headed off at the pass.

Of course not. I can see myself having double access entries to game rooms and the -VDWQ- park. One entry to charge questers a SMALL fee to play, and when I say small, I mean 100 credits. I'd charge 500 for huge give away quests if I could. And for those who don't know me or could care less, we offer pretty extreme prizes in our park's quests, people who know, know that 100 credits is a cake walk compared to what's at stake. And the other turnstile a regular one for friends and park staff.

Call me whatever you want girl, I'm sure I can take it. I'm just kind of surprised you'd place our friendship on such an extreme scale, but hey.. that's cool.

Hmm.. but did you notice it did not say if you get the credits when you charge? Maybe you charge for your rooms, but the credits from people entering won't go to you, but to VMK. (where all credits go when you buy things)

With 100 being the higest price listed, that doesn't make it a small fee. That makes it the most expensive fee.
