New online dining system?!

I love the new system too! I just booked LTT for October and it is showing as being a character dinner - let's hope that it is (thanks again 2Gr8Disneykids)!

Such a nice format!

That is the nature of live beta testing, they will take if live for a time, monitor it and when they find issues, switch back to the old one while they fix the bugs.

I've been charged with booking all the dining for a group of 10 staying at the Swan in December. Being new to the game, and a bit nervous with the responsibility, I created a reservation at the Swan earlier than my actual arrival date to "practice" making reservations, just to see how it worked and what would be available.

Went to the new booking menu on the "My Disney Vacation" page. Although I couldn't pull up my reservation (Disney hotels only), I notice that the +10 days was already in the calender. When I requested a day 190 out, it prompted me for my reservation. I put in my reservation, and I was able to book everything, including LeCellier, Tusker character b-fast, coral reef and California Grill, all at the times I wanted!

However, I was referred back to the "old" reservation page for Cinderella's RT, which was the most important ADR that I wanted. We all want to have dinner there prior to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas party. Unfortunately, I could not retrieve my reservation, received an error message:
E02020305003

Anyone else ever receive this? I guess I could call the dinning plan, but since it's really a fake reservation, just wanted to check here first.

I have the absolute WORST luck with the Dining Reservation system! Not only can I not see the "new" ressie system, I can see the "old" way either.....I can't see anything! It says "ERROR, apologies for the inconvenience". UGH! The dining ressie system almost NEVER works for me!!!

*sigh* I don't even get this. I just get shipped back to the start page wher eit asks you what restaurant you want.

Love it! That is so much better! I am also grateful that they have a "Change search options now too on the side! It was so tedious before to change your search

Keep in mind though....although it is saying times between 3:30 and 7:30 for example, it is still not showing ALL the times. It appears to be showing the 3 closest times to the time that you pick....but still alot better bc all you have to do is change the time on the side and update it to search for a later/earlier time.

Also it is great if you want to search multiple character breakfasts at once for the best time or at a particular park....very nice! Hope they stick to this format!

I have a question for anyone who is actually making a reservation with it now (I was just looking for now bc I can't make mine until June 7th)....what happens after you reserve one? Does it give you an option right there to search for more or do you have to start all the way over by selecting the make a reservation link at the top of the web page? Just curious bc they had an option before where you could add stuff to your "cart" and then "check out". I was curious as to how the multiple reservations are being handled on this beta version?

As a follow-up on my "fake" reservation, I called Disney Dining this morning to book the Cinderella Round Table. I was told by the supervisor that 180+10 was not honored for the swan or dolphin reservations.

I certainly didn't tell her that my reservation number worked online for all my other practice reservations!

Any other experience with ADR's past 180 days at the Swan or Dolphin?

How do I retrieve my reservation with this new system? I am renting DVC points so I can't get it through my reservations, but under the old system, when you clicked on "retrieve a reservation" to link it for the 180+10, it did recognize dvc reservations. Is there any way to retrieve the reservations with this new system?

I'm loving the new online system. It is a lot easier to use - multiple restaurant search, multiple times, everything is stored in one place. Also, if you make conflicting reservations a note comes up informing you of this, BUT, you have two options to either "Cancel the existing reservation and make requested reservation." or "Keep all reservations." If you select the later, a not comes up saying
"Please note that you now have conflicting reservations. Please review your reservations and cancel any existing reservations that are not needed."
I kinda wish they didn't give you the option to make both.

I agree with ckelly14. There are still bugs in the +10 window. I was able to book things prior to my arrival, but i'm sure Disney will fix this.

LeesyUD, you can easily do another search right after you confirm your reservation.

This system is SO much better. I called to make most of my reservations b/c I knew where I wanted to eat and what specific days. But for a few days I had openings and no real place I had to be -- so I was open to restaurant suggestion. The CM's on the phone didn't really help me with those, seemed like they couldn't recommend specific places. I was just able to go in an make a reservation for my last dinner I wanted. We are going to AK for the day and it closes at 5, we don't have PH's so anywhere outside the parks was open. Before when I put in a restaurant it only gave me 3 alternate choices if what I wanted was not available. The new system allowed me to see everything that was available and make the best informed choice for my family!

Just last week I was thinking that a system like this would be sooo much nicer. In fact, I got a pop up survey while looking for reservations last week and this was something that I wrote would be nice. It would be cool to think that they took my suggestion, and in one week made a whole new system off of it!! However, I highly doubt that!

Understand that you wouldn't want people "hogging" reservations, but there are legitimate reasons why you would need more than one reservation per meal. For example, in our group of 10, we are switching off who watches the kids at night, to give some people time for an "adult dinner". So one night I need to book a table for 4 at California Grill, and a table for 6 at a character dinner.

The current search system already has the 10+ days on the calender. Choose the date you want, and if it is greater that 180 days, it will prompt you to log in and provide your reservation number.

Good point, I honestly didn't think about that.

I have a similar problem whereas there are 4 in our party myself DH, DS and his wife and we are not eating together every meal each day so I have a couple ressies for 2 here and 2 there.

I just tried to use the online ressie system to check about changeing my one days ressie and the entire system was down now

With the 'new' way when you hover over "My Disney Vacation" and click on the link to view your Dining Reservations it automagically just pulls up a list of your dining reservations - there is no place to type in the reservation number and the phone number. I've use the 'old' way for several trips now without a problem. The 'new' way assumes you logged in with your account/password when you made the reservations and that the reservations are 'linked' under your account so there is no need to type in the reservations number and phone number. About 3 of our June reservations don't show up and NONE of our October reservations show up.

I'm sorry I didn't actually try it out. I still have the old system at work and I didn't test it on the new one. I'll have to try it when I get home tonight...hopefully they fix it because the only ADRs I have are for October. Glad I saved all of the confirmation emails!

I have made some for both September and October and they all came up even the one I placed over the phone. I LOVE it! I don't have to put confirmation numbers in (for every single reservation I have made) and it updates automatically! I made another reservation and by the time I got back to the main dining reservation page, it was there! I just hope it doesn't come down for some reason!

Now I see it! New ADR system wasn't coming up for me either. It's very similar to Opentable.com if any of you have ever used it!

I'm still getting the old one :sad1:

Does it also give you cancelled ADRs?

You have the option to cancel a reservation, but it doesn't show the reservations you canceled. I just wish there was a way to SELECT a new reservation. But I love it!

Oh this is too cool!:thumbsup2

I am seeing the new system...and I love it. I can put "no preference" on the name of the restaurant, and it will come up with a list of everything that is open. Sooo much better.

Disney IT is on the ball...:worship:
