okay guys, here's the scoop! New menu rolls out next Wed. (Sept 14th).
Guests will be greeted with wonton CHIPS, and 3 dipping sauces...Poly Harissa (a spicy red pepper chili garlic sauce), Chimichurri (olive oil, oregano, garlic), and the old stand by Peanut! Then Ohana salad will be tossed table side (they've decided to add shredded carrots to the mix), and the honey lime will stay on the greens. Then honey coriander chicken wings and the new shrimp will hit the table. The shrimp is the same size and marinated with the same sauce that was on the grill, but they're adding chunks of pineapple (sort of the sweet and sour that was on the wontons...and yes, the wontons are no more. Just to let you know though, the old shimp and vegie wontons may be tossed in with the wonton chips until the supply is used up.) The shrimp is still unlimited. After the chicken and shrimp course, the table will be cleared and dishes will be replaced. (guests are welcome to request more chicken and shrimp to go along with the skewers) Then skewers will be brought along with potatoes and vegies. To finish off the meal, the bread pudding will be served. There's a new maritini to go with the bread pudding. It's called Yellow Tang (named after a fish). (the martini is awesome) It's banana liquor, butterscotch schnapps, and Frangellica shaken with pineapple and sour mix and it's served with a cinnamon and sugar rimmed glass. :)

So, there's the new menu guys. Hopefully everyone enjoys. Go easy on us for the first few weeks. It's going to be a challenge getting used to the new flow of service. We'll do our best. :)

I'm excited to hear what everyone thinks!

Thank you so much for this information LittleBlueGirl. :) I am sure that there are many who will be very interested in what you have shared.

Thanks for the info, I think the menu sounds yummy.  Can't wait to try it in 19 days!!! :cool1:

Thank you for the info! I am dissapointed to see the wontons go, but I am excited to try the rest of the stuff. Especially the bread pudding, I never liked the pineapple for dessert.

Thank-you for the update. I will be giving it a whirl on Sept 27 and Oct 2 (If I like it enough the first time!).

Do you still get the yummy bread at the beginning - or is that gone, too? We loved that stuff . . .

I will really miss the pineapple but not the wontons. ;) Thanks for the info.

Hi LittleBlueGirl!! :wave2:

Are you a server at Ohana? If so, maybe we'll see you soon, I have reservations for 2 at 7pm on Friday Sept. 30th. It'll be our first time there, we're on our honeymoon!! I'll bring you some chocolates, just let me know who to ask for!! Feel free to message me. :flower:

:wave2: Hi LittleBlueGirl....Thanks so much for the post..Our ADR is on Sept. 14 so I guess we will be Guinea Pigs...(probably just pigs).
Anyhow, can you tell me if the shrimp are cleaned (creepy, crawly legs removed)?
We have never eaten here so we can't be disappointed with any changes.
Thanks a bunch!

Thanks so much - always great to get info "from the source"! :)

Just two questions.... will it be possible to request the shrimp without pineapple? And are other desserts still available for an extra charge (and presumably not included on the dining plan)??

Thanks again.

Hi Punch,
My DH, DD3 and I will be at O'hanas Friday Sept 30th at 8pm. Maybe we'll see you there as well!

Thanks! Do you know if its real bread pudding or I heard somewhere it might be banana bread pudding?

So sad! While most of the changes dont bother me much since I dont eat shrimp or beans, I dont think I can go back there without the rice. That was a key part of that meal for me. :(

Thanks for letting us know! :)

Thanks for the heads up! Looking forward to eating there in less than two weeks. :cool1: New menu looks interesting..I'm glad I can't remember the appetizers we ate there too well (even though we ate there 3 or 4 times) or else I might miss them as much as some of the others will! I'm pleased there is a new dessert..the pineapple never was exceptional when we had it. Plus, at my job...I eat pineapple all day long. Bring on the bread pudding!

Thanks for the info LittleBlueGirl....

I have never eaten at Ohana's but plan to in December. I guess in my case you can't miss what you have never had, but I was looking forward to the wontons. I am wondering though what exactly a wonton CHIP looks and tastes like? All I can think of is those little styrofoamy looking things that come on pu-pu platters at a chinese restaurant. LOL. I am probably way off here, but I just cant visualize this. Have you been allowed to try one? If you have, did you like it?

Is the price the same or did it increase? Does the price still include a drink? Thanks!

I was telling Dh about the changes (we've never been) and he said it sounds great to him. He thinks it sounds like an improvement all the way around.

We'll see in 16 days!

Isn't it funny how the tone of the OP tends to set the tone of the responses?

This could have been written in an "Oh no, we're screwed again" tone, but it was not. It's very upbeat, positive, yet factual, and even though I will miss those shrimp wontons for years to come, I am looking forward to trying the new Ohana menu! :cool1:

Thanks very much to the OP!! :flower:

Can you tell me if the shrimp are warm or cold? I would like to know if there will be an increase in price and if drinks are still included too. Thank you
