Please vote whether or not you like the new Ohana menu, compared to the old one. We haven't been for the new one yet, but I know I'm upset about the pineapple being gone  , and my dad was really REALLY lookin forward to getting those huge shrimp off of the skewers! So we're trying to decide whether or not to go.
If you would like, post your reason for your answer. But you don't have to! :sunny:

Thanks!!!!!! :teeth:

We usually love Ohana, but when we went in Sept it was just ok. I love the wontons, the salad in my opinion was not to good. I really missed the green beans. Some of my steak was a tad fatty. I am going to give it a try again though, because I just love that peanut sauce with the steak. So I have to give it another try. Also, the bread pudding was one of the best desserts we had all trip. I do not even like bread pudding!! It had this caramel sauce poured over it & ice cream. Everyone at my table LOVED it!!

I second the opinion of the new dessert: YUM!! Bread pudding a la mode with bananas Foster caramel sauce- to die for!

The shrimp is still big, it just comes to your table in a bowl now. It is a sweet-sour flavor, and is peel and eat- very yummy. You can ask for more if you finish the bowl- but they give you a lot! We love shrimp, and we couldn't finish the whole bowl.

The skewers were good- steak was great, very tender. Turkey and sausage were quite good also. Pork was good, but a little dry.

We really liked our meal. Give the dessert a chance- you might not even miss the pineapple!

I went in early October, while the food is different, its still very good. It was the TERRIBLE service that would probably steer me away from this location again. Let's hope they fix this problem soon.

I had to reply. We went in oct and I was really looking forward to this meal. Well, this was probably the worst meal we had. Service-horrible, meat-dry and tough, dessert- hohum. I hope I don't get flamed but I probably won't be going back to this place.

Hopefully the only ones voting are those that have actually eaten off the new menu. The best would be those that have eaten both before and after the new menu. I wanted to add that those "huge shrimp" are no longer huge. They were very small shrimp in the bowl that we got. Very disappointing. I'm never going back.

I guess I just don't handle change very well. We have been there twice with the old menu and loved it. I like the rice and big shrimp on skewers. My husband only ate the shrimp and steak when he went. The pineapple was so yummy.

I will miss the old menu. Why change something when it is not broken? This place was always crowded. :confused3

I don't know if we will go back anytime soon. 1, because I want to try new places, and 2nd because to the menu change.

We went in Sept (about a week after the final change). We really enjoyed it (except the sausage--Yuck!! none of us ate that). I had called about a week before, asking if my son could have a different dessert as he is allergic to coconut. Chef Michael called me the next day and told me my son would be offered any one of five desserts. I told him the pineapple was fine and we didn't need them to go to any trouble, he just couldn't have coconut. He told me that he himself would make a note and I could ask for the chef on duty if needed, and to tell them that my son was to have any dessert he wanted per Chef Michael. When we got there, I told the waitress, she went to get a chef, but returned a few moments later to tell us that it had already been taken care of by Chef Michael. We had wonderful service as well as good food that night. The rest of us loved the bread pudding, by the way. The shrimp may not be as big as they used to be, but they are very good.

I ate there last Monday and Wednesday...

The shrimp are yummy-- but I have a "thing" about having to clean them myself so after one taste, I gave mine away. I saw several tables request and get more. The sausage will make you sick-- don't even put one bite in your mouth. No one, and I mean NO ONE around us ate it. GROSS!

My DH and I went one night and had a magical experience so we quickly cancelled the Le Cellier ADR for 2 nights later and decided to return with our whole group of 9 to Ohanas instead. That was a terrible choice! We got meats squished onto our plates before we were done with the starters and didn't get the potato or veggie dishes for at least 45 minutes after our meal was over, in spite of asking everyone who walked by. Also, we got drinks after we'd been there for 30 minutes and never got refills. Since it was our last night, we had intended to use our left over dining credits to pay for someone else's meal, but we were there for over 2 and a half hours before we could get our check and we didnt want to wait another hour to pay someone else's check too!! The service was absolutley terrible! I cannot stress it enough!!

Now, the good stuff... dessert!! We thought we would not even try it since it sounds yucky. However, once our spoons touched our lips, we were licking the bowl. You will not believe how good it is. I hate fruit and still thought it was one of the best desserts in all of WDW! Also, DH said the potato dish was the best he's ever tasted.

All and all, I'd go elsewhere and not take the risk. Although we had a wonderful meal, 2 days later we had the absolute worst meal of our whole vacation. We ended on quite a frustrating DUD!

No I do not like the new menu at Ohana. Why did they change it? I can get bread pudding (is this really Polynesian?) at the local Bonanza. Bring back the fresh pineapple. As for the steamed shrimp, I can get that at Cape May,and eat as much as I want. Besides steamed shrimp is not a novelty, You can get that almost anywhere. The Big grilled tiger shrimp were great! It seems that the powers to be are trying to homogonize the resturants.  Where is the uniqueness in bread pudding? Out of the six of us that ate there, none of us ate the bread pudding. We don't like it. The bowl of steamed shrimp were dissapointing after having it the other way. I am glad that we got to experience the old menu. :sad2: :guilty:

I like the new dessert... correct me if I'm wrong, but can't everyone get fresh pineapple at the grocery store? Doesn't seem exotic or "dessert-y" to me at all.

I didn't do the poll, because I don't know what the old menu was like. All of the options were more a comparison of the new menu with the old. We went last week, and I thought it was awesome! The dinner took a long time, but we read reviews beforehand so we were expecting that. I'd love to be sitting there right now.

We live in a small midwest town in the middle of nowhere. Our grocery stores are limited. Once in a while we get fresh pineapple but it is usually too green, and not available very often. Our pineapple usually comes in a can. If we want the real thing we have to drive to a larger town around 45 minutes away. We happen to like fresh fruit. We grow peaches, apples and grapes and strawberries in our area. They are plentiful in season. Not pineapple. To each his own. If you like soggy bread-go for it.
There are so many good places to eat at WDW we will not starve if we do not go back to Ohana. We have our favorites, and go there because we liked certain things. When those things are removed, why go back. Find another place. Find a new favorite. That's the fun about going. So many different choices.

We (3 adults) ate at 'OHana in October and we loved it. We had terrific service, by two wonderful servers. Drinks and refills arrived promptly, we were asked frequently if we need refills on anything, the courses were nicely spaced and the skewers were circulated often.
We loved the new menu. The appetizers were great - the shrimp and wonton chips were so good, I ate too many. The salad was fresh and good. The potatoes were Wonderful, I loved them. DS and DH liked the veggies and dessert, I was too full to eat either.
We had a table near the window and we watched both the Electrical Water Pageant and Wishes.
This was my favorite meal of the trip. I enjoyed it more than Teppenyaki, Rose and Crown, Le Cellier, Morroco, and Yachtsmen Steakhouse. We will return.

Oh good. I thought I was the only one not impressed by the new dessert. I saw many people RAVING about it and I was definitely less than impressed. I've had some excellent bread pudding in my time....this was not it.

We also had horrible service, our server seemed to forget about us. Salad was awful and the stir fry veggies...ugh. I didn't try the sausage because I don't like pork.

Honestly, I prefer the old menu. I don't plan on going back to 'Ohana for awhile, to many other places to dine.

I was fairly disappointed when we went in early October. We last ate at 'Ohana in 2002. The service was marginal, but the server was very nice and helpful. Things were just rushed and uncoordinated. The appetizers were good, but I found the meats to be very disappointing. They were either dry, tasteless, or fatty. The potatoes were brought very late in the meal, but were good. I don't like bread pudding but liked the caramel sauce on the ice cream.

Overall, I have no plans to go back next time.

My meal there last week was among the highlights. The chicken wings and sweet and sour shrimp were scrumptious, not to mention the sauces and the dessert.

Oh yeah, the salad was great and the meat was pretty good.
