We are going 9/8/12-9/15/12 may arrive on the 7th instead. Staying at Port Orleans Riverside Royal Room. 9/14/12 is my DD 5th birthday so we are hoping for MNSSHP that night. Booked in August 2011 so that I could pretend we where going last year in order to better understand what crowds will be like this year. Extremely excited flight deals are finally starting to come out and am down to 48 days to making ADRs.

Hi everyone! If all goes well, DH and I will be in Disney at the end of Sept to run the Tower of Terror 10-miler. I have never done any race, but we were down earlier this month for DH to run the half and get his Donald medal. I was so motivated and moved by seeing all the runners that I decided to make it my goal to run a Disney race. I started a couch to 5k program, and DH says he will help motivate me and run with me. If I stick with it and am doing well by June, we will sign up and make it official! An adult trip to Disney- now that's some motivation!! (and, it's probably the only way I'd get him back to Disney so soon!). Our kids have no idea we're thinking of doing this. :rolleyes1They won't be happy we're going without them, but we won't be able to take them easily out of school (oldest DD will be starting middle school), and we'd have no one to watch them while we're at the race. I am very excited at the possibility of a grown-up trip to Disney. Is that awful of me?!? This will be the first time we've gone without them. Tell me it's okay!

You'll love it! Crowds were so low last year when we went Sept. 21, we hardly had to wait in lines at all. Just grab fast passes for the big rides, and you're golden! MNSSHP was an absolute blast!! Definitely worth the money, and we're going again this year as well. :cool1: Based on past years, I would bet the 14th will be the first party.

I'd be super excited too at the thought of an alone trip to Disney!! Dh and I were actually thinking of it, but for this year with the kids the perfect ages to really enjoy the magic of it, I just couldn't. We definitely plan on going alone in the future though, and staying at the Poly as I just can't justify staying there with all 6 of us because of the cost, but it's my dream resort!

Change of plans, seems to be the theme of 2012 but its for the much better.

My dates have changed. I've added to make it 17-23 & due to deep consideration in the next two trips. I will soon be the owner of not only a Disney AP but a Universal Power Pass & a Sea World Fun Card. This is my 31st birthday trip & I wanna do it right.

Welcome!! I have 3 kids....9, 7 and 4 (10, 8 and 4 at the time of travel) and we're pulling them out for 5 days. I couldn't agree more...September is the best time to pull them. Especially since mine will have only been in school for 3-4 weeks. Better than April or May! We'll be doing MNSSHP this year....my kids want to dress up as pirates!! :thumbsup2

We have never pulled our kids (will be 4th and 2nd grades when we go) out of school for anything but illness, but are doing it for this trip, and they will miss 5 days. We have a late start this year, Aug. 27, so they'll be missing the 4th week of school. Hopefully we'll get some work ahead of time and catch up easily!

Nice to know that we're not the only ones (The MT Minnie Sisters) who are changing our dates a bit. We are going Sept. 8-18 now so we have eliminated a couple of days. Not a big deal though. Our niece may come and meet up with us for a couple of days and we just decided we would do 5 nights @BWV and then 5@OKW. :)

Add us to the date changer club! We've decided to go Sept.15 - 25 instead. That way we won't catch the higher prices at the tail end of our trip or the crowds due to food and wine since we have no interest in attending it. We were there for the start of it last year and definitely noticed an increase in crowds by the end of Sept.

Still don't know where we're staying, I'm still waiting for promos to come out. The Cdn site has two room discounts on right now (maybe US site does too, not sure); Book by Jan 31 for 35% off room Jan 2 - Feb 20, and then book by March 31 for 30% off rooms Feb 21 - June 14. So my theory is, the next offer they come out with for room discounts won't be for the summer months as that's the busy season. So I'm hoping when the first offer expires on Jan 31, they'll come out with their new offer for Fall room discounts. Since we stay in a Deluxe villa, the room discount saved us more money than free dining last year, so I'm holding my breath and crossing my fingers til Feb 1, in hopes they'll come out with a Sept room discount of 35-40%. Last year the steepest room discounts were for SSR and OKW (40% off), so we stayed at SSR. I was wanting to try a different resort this year, but SSR was beautiful and had nice short travel times to the parks. The only thing I didn't like was there's no room service, but we can live around that for sure, especially with a full kitchen. So we'll see, I'm definitely getting antsy waiting for the end of the month though to see if my theory is right!

Change in plans. We are now going in mid-August to avoid my eldest son from missing any school.

Sorry I've been a little MIA. Been battling a respiratory infection and haven't been on too much. I am updating the main page right now. :)

Hope you are feeling better!

My kids have been to Legoland and they liked it. My SIL took them and she was bored by it, but the kids loved it. I want to do the dessert party but don't think I could justify the price of it + MNSSHP + BBB/Pirates League. Plus I have heard it's hard to get ressies at. :(

We've never been to any of the Legolands, despite there being on here in the UK. Still undecided as to whether to risk wasting a day... we'll see. We're very indecisive people.

Yeah the price for the DP is a bit steep and if you're paying for other stuff like BBB then I think it's prob best to miss it. We haven't go children yet so BBB/Pirates league doesn't come into it yet for us. The DP is quite hard to get ressies for, it's a case of staking out the ADR webpage. It's not a case of waiting for the 180 day mark, the ADR release dates vary. I waited ages last year to the point of almost giving up.

Welcome! I added you to the first page. :) Your DD is going to have a blast on her birthday. We are celebrating 2 birthdays while we are there...I can't wait!! The crowds will be low and you'll love that!

Welcome!! I think it's perfectly fine for you and your DH to go by yourself. :) I've done trips sans the kids because it is nice just to get away for a little bit. We did a NY trip...they were upset at first because they wanted to go but were very excited for 5 days alone with grandma!

How exciting! I changed your dates on the 1st page. And how exciting for Disney AP, Universal pass and Sea World Card!!! I hope you have a magical birthday!!

That's exactly how I feel. It's just review, so I don't think it's the end of the world to do it. My kids aren't complaining in the least! :lmao:

I changed your dates. Hoping for you to get some sort of discount. Free dining would save us an additional $400, but I'm ok with the 30% I have right now. But part of me is like C'mon Free Dining!! LOL!

Have a great time!!!

Hope you are feeling better!

I am starting to feel much better. 4 1/2 weeks of a terrible cough was the worst thing ever. I went to 2 doctors and they kept telling me it was a virus and I just have to fight it off. I was getting worried that it would turn to pneumonia. :(

LOL If you have LegoLand there, I'd say skip it in the US and wait. ;) What did you think of the DP? My DH who is a sweetaholic saw this the other day and said I think we should try to do that. Me, I could take it or leave it. I know it's got the funky dates for ADRs...just don't know if it's worth my time to stalk it or if I should just buy desserts and have our own little dessert party on the beach at Poly!! :rotfl2:

We are taking our 2nd trip.to Disney September 23-29. Our 1st trip was in June and we are hoping for less crowds in September (even though it will probably be just ad hot). We are staying at Pop.

I'm calling next month to book our stay at BCV for Sept 20-29. We own at BLT so I have to wait until my 7 month mark. I've managed to score a room at 6 and 7 months out in the past so hopefully I can do it this time! Have fun everyone! Thanks! April

I was searching for Disney, Sept 2012 and found my way here! I never thought I'd pull my kids from school for a vacation, but they'll be missing 5 school days. I'm holding out booking to see if they offer a free QS dining package.

Welcome!!! I never thought I'd pull my kids from school either, but it's during review time so I don't feel so bad. ;)

This is one of the pros to year-round schools; My daughter will be tracked out the week we're going! We're really enjoying the new school calendars here. :)

And if they offer a dining plan deal that I can apply to my trip and discount the price, even better! :thumbsup2

Cool! My DD will be 6 then. :) It looks like she'll have lots of company at the pool and everywhere else!

Great!! My girls love making new friends, oldest is a little quiet at first but our middle and youngest are best friends with everyone...right away!!:rotfl2: Hope to bump into you!:)
