Online Check-in at AKL -- Check.
Suitcases out of attic and partially packed -- Check.
Groceries Ordered from Garden Grocer -- Check.
Notes to teachers for homework, etc. -- Check.

Now, I just have the painful "one week to go" wait. :hourglass

9 days!!!

Get well wishes for those of you who are battling the flu and other things! I'm sorry to hear of it hitting you so close to your trip. Thoughts and prayers be with you. :)

11 days left here. Been battling a large canker sore that became secondarily infected, lots of pain. Fun stuff. But the meds are helping.

Also PRAYING that neither my husband nor I get the flu or a cold before our trip.

We are going February 25-March 1 for my daughters 5th birthday! We are super excited, this is my daughter's first time at WDW! Besides ordering a birthday cake from WDW where else might I find a birthday cake? I don't particularly care for the designs on the ones you order from WDW. Any other birthday tips anyone has for us would be greatly appreciated!

We have reservations at Cinderella's Royal table, chef mickey's, hoop dee doo review, and tried very hard but nothing available at Be our Guest.

do the Happy dance..talked to the hubby,we are going to leave the night before instead morning so we'll have the whole day, so now I'll have enough time to really enjoy each park each day and go to Downtown Disney, so added another night to my ressies!!:goodvibes:cool1::banana:

Moopdog, do you have reservations for DC yet? i've been going back and forth whether to do it yet.

No, I don't think we are going to do it. I have finally accepted it and yet, I can't help but keeping thinking "what if this" and "what if that". :) I just can't quite justifty the cost, not knowing a) what the weather will be like and b) not having a car.

I would LOVE to be able to do it, but I'm just thinking it's not in the cards. I sort of was telling myself that if there was a promo code out, for when we're there - that was fate telling me to do it. But.... there's not one.:(

Lol. Anybody else get a pre-trip email from Disney giving info about Fastpass and ME and other stuff? In the lower right corner was a box that said "survey". "How do you currently read your Disney emails?" Below that were two buttons:
O on a mobile device
O in a computer

Well, like many I have an iPhone. The radio buttons were not selectable. Instead, clicking there took me to my browser, where I got a "you need a Flash Player to view this content." Error.

So the only way for me to respond that I use a mobile device is to use a computer. So likely the only responses they will get are from people using a computer, so they will never know that it doesn't work on an iphone!

And of course there is no way to submit feedback, as the web page is broken and the email is a non-reply.

Sigh. Ain't technology wunnerful?

Katie

Did anyone watch the Live with Kelly and Michael show this morning? They announced that they will be broadcasting live from Disney the week of Feb 18th. I am so glad to be going the week of Feb 4th lol.

Woohoo! Glad I'll miss that. :thumbsup2

Woke up in the middle of the night with a sore throat, fever, and chills. OTC meds not working and my fever is up to 101.3. So it's off to the doctor for me. Never fails that one of us gets sick before our trip. Hoping it's just me and my kids don't come down with whatever this is. :worried:

Oh no. Feel better. I am worried about this also. Looks like we will be there around the same time. Good luck! :flower3:

I don't know the name, but there is a local bakery that people often order cakes from. There is a 'cake chatter' thread on the restaurants board.

I bet if you post your question over in that sub forum you'd get a lot of info :thumbsup2 Not sure if an outside bakery could deliver to a restaurant or just the resort though.

Thanks! It's hard to be a sick mom...there's still so much to do with the kids: school, sports, dinner, etc. DH tries to take over BUT......
I'm just trying to stay away from everyone so they don't get sick.

Just got the call from the doctor - she has the flu!!!
She will be home from school for the rest of the week, then she goes back for a week and then misses another week because of Disney, hopefully the school will understand!
She's a good student and will be able to keep up as long as they send some work home this week.
I will make sure she brings all of her books to Disney - we can do a little each day either before or after the parks.

I hope that DH and I don't come down with it too, I have way too much work to do before we leave!

It boggles my mind that Disney does not have a more functional/reliable IT setup!! Everything else is run so well!

Ack, after all the posts about how unusually crowded it is this year. I was doodling around on the Disney site on my lunch break trying to see how booked up our hotel is our week 2/1-2/7. Not only is ASMu Sold Out , so are all five Value Resorts!!! A few had some Suites, but all the regular rooms are gone! Egad! No wonder Disney has been extending their hours like mad! So much for trying to go at a less crowded time of year.

I still think crowds are low-mod. Most locals find it to be cold, school in session and no holidays. Those that are traveling are going to get away from the cold and need places to stay.

Boardwalk Inn is also completely booked when I was looking at our dates (2/2-2/10)

What truly boggles my mind is that a company that has made it's name in entertainment and cutting edge technology, can have such horrible recordings for the on hold music. It must be a ploy to get you to hang up! :confused3
