*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

Planning on Mk for Super Bowl Sunday, is it possible to get it all done? Kids (8&5) have never been before, they have no idea what to really expect. DD5 is into princesses, Honestly Mickey isn't big on their list
I'm figuring walk back to FL, do that, have cupcakes at BOG sometime in the AM (I know, bad mommy) From there FP PP, then IASW and HM. After PP hit Columbia house for late lunch do the left hand side of the park. Hit Tomorrow land later in the day since they're calling for the crowed to thin out. My guys are trooper, they're used running all over a campground all day long when on vacation, so I think they'll be ok. Planning on using PM and CoP for chill time to relax. This will work right???
The next day wil be DHS, so we won't be go, go, go 2 days in a row

I'm in a mild panic over leaving them (2 dogs and 2 cats) because this is the first time there won't be anybody home while we are gone. All other times I had one of my relatives come and stay with them but this time they were all busy.

I had the same thought about the boarding/hotels. I think they will feel better staying somewhere they are familiar with even if they'll be alone most of the time.

I'm sure they'll be alright in the end. :goodvibes

I've done both...had someone stay the entire time and someone come a couple of times a day to let them out and feed them. Just tell yourself that they will be happier at home than at a puppy hotel. And if they are anything like mine....they will do what they normally do.....Sleep all day LOL

Not helping it!! :eek::scared1:

My oldest is so easily scared and I'm worried about him. He's not very social with other dogs, even at home he prefers to be around me rather than our other dog and our sitter is only around for a couple of hours a day.

I totally understand. My dogs are completely people dogs, very co-dependent. :lovestruc it, but it can be a problem when leaving for more than a night. We move my mother in the for the whole time we are gone. It's worked very well. We used to take them to my brothers house, but they get off our schedule there, so it's hard.

Just found this thread...a little late, but early enough! Leaving in 23days! Caribbean Beach, February 13th through 21st. Heard that they were doing some work on Jamica...my room request! I changed to Martinique. Anyone staying at CB?

After my last post of random ramblings I totally forgot to ask my questions:

1. I have a 3,5 and 7 year old. I am taking a stroller for the 3 year old but do I need to plan on something for the 5 and 7 year olds?

2. What is your "don't forget to pack....." tip(s)?

1. Find a nice park bench to sit and take in the surroundings if the older two need a walking break. There's usually ones near snack carts and they're great ways to remember to stop, breathe and maybe rehydrate/nibble on a snack to keep everyone from getting too cranky. Who knows? You may end up seeing some characters come out nearby you wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

2. No tips there as I just recently joined the 'overpackers anonymous' thread so I probably shouldn't be giving advice. :upsidedow

No more nightmares so far (*knock on immitation wood*) but my laptop did just tumble onto it's head and now has an ink-like blob on the lower left-hand corner of it's screen! Thank goodness for still living in a building with a family member who will let me borrow hers until mine's fixed but I'm worried what the price to fix it is going to be. :scared1: My card is already maxed out on the upcoming vacation.

Disney bound in 9 days 15 hrs and I have 103 fever. This can't be good!! If my family is going to get it they need to get it now lol. That's not nice is it?

If they haven't had the flu shot get them to get one now. I had that flu two weeks ago. (Worked so much overtime to pay for trip i forgot to get the shot) Was quite sick for five days, went back to work on sixth (if out more then three days you get another "incident" and get in trouble. Pretty much better now. As soon as I realized it was flu, got hubby in for a flu shot. Asked nurse if we were too late, she said it certainly it might help. He did NOT catch it from me, thank goodness. Fluids, rest and NyQuil were my friends!

Feel better soon! I took advantage and watched some old Disney stuff on Netflix. Even the Tinkerbell movie. Liked it better than I expected. I like thinking of Tink as a techno-geek, found her slightly less obnoxious that way.

So when we went to US/IoA three years ago, my sister house-sat and took care of our dog. Otherwise, we never leave him alone.

When we go out of town to visit friends, he comes with. When SO goes to Wisconsin twice a year to visit his family, dog has me. When I go to a regional or national convention or weekend trips with my hobby, dog has him. We have no children obviously. :o

So this year, my sister couldn't house/dog sit and we're going to be gone 12 days total. I was so worried. Our dog really does not get along with other dogs. If we were to send him to a kennel, he'd have to stay in his dog run and not get any outside play time. I didn't know what we could do.

Then I found out when my cousin's kiddos grew up and moved out, she turned her home into a home-style kennel. I should mention my cousin is a professional dog trainer. So my dog will be staying in his own room, will have a person I trust taking care of him and giving him lots of attention. I am so very relieved!!!

Of course I will miss my dog, but I won't have to worry about him. :yay:

Took DD to the Dr. yesterday, we had to wait 3 hours in the waiting room with about 20 sick kids!:worried:

He did a strep test and the flu test, we don't get the results till later today, in the mean time he gave her an antibiotic and tamiflu!
Her fever is gone but her throat still hurts:(!
If it's strep she's back in school tomorrow if it's the flu she's home all week.

12 days till check-in!

Happy for you, i feel your 'relief'!! still waiting to hear when my brother will be here. he lives 14 hrs away. he'll be here for 10 days then to Utah for rest of the week. i don't know if he realizes that he'll miss valentine's day with his new girlfriend. I'm afraid if i remind him he wont come here!! Is that mean of me??~~

11 days for me!!! i refuse to look at the ever-changing non-accuweather for at least a few days!

My oldest and best friend stopped by this weekend. She said she'd watch my dog while we go to Disney.

I had to laugh - she JUST got her very first dog with her new husband a few months ago (an ACD mix) and now she thinks she'll be able to handle her new puppy AND my 2 year old ACD? NO :lmao: Love you, thanks, but no.

Reminded me to schedule her up for her shots this week though :thumbsup2

31 days :cool1: Hoping for Mickey Mail today!

Did anyone watch the Live with Kelly and Michael show this morning? They announced that they will be broadcasting live from Disney the week of Feb 18th. I am so glad to be going the week of Feb 4th lol.
