*** New Official February 2013 Thread ***

Add me to the list of happy to be driving so I don't have to stress about packing too much. Figuring on lots of layers
Please tell me I'm not the only one to keep looking at the menus to plan what I want to eat?:lovestruc We were at the PA Farm Show yesterday and they wanted $6 for a funnel cake. Dh asked if I wanted to get one. Told him no, I'll just wait till Feb and have one in Epcot w/ a snack credit

I love the way you think! :thumbsup2 We are just like that. Most treats in the real world just aren't worth buying when we can get them with a snack point in THE World!
We always make sure to have points for sandwiches to take to MCO on the way home, because after a week on free or nearly free dining, I can't bring myself to pay cash for fastfood in the airport.

That's a really good idea, I'll have to try that!

Do you have any problems bringing food through security check? I have never brought food with me to the airport and was wondering if they would make a fuss if there was like... mayo on it haha

Haha know this wasnt directed at me but I've brought plenty of baked goods through security no problem. I don't think mayo is a problem, but I don't like it so I've never tried to bring it through.

They only have a problem with liquids. Last year MCO officials detained my 23 DD, swabbed her hands and searched all her carryons before removing and throwing away bath salts that she was given for a spa night at the resort. (Apparently a component to a street drug :confused3) We find that ME gets us there so early that there is generally time to eat before we enter security any way. Our favorite is a last minute shopping trip to DTD and Earl of Sandwich to go! The Caprese is yummo! Though generally speaking not a good value for quick service points.

Paying the balance today :cool1: Makes it feel so close!

On another positive note, the new website found all of my reservations!!! Disney felt bad for the stomach virus I had yesterday! :lmao:

BATH SALTS!?! :rotfl:

I've heard of the whole bath salt drug craze. How do people find these types of things?! Seriously.

From what I've read, February is the least rainy month of the year in Orlando. I don't think you'll get a good idea on precipitation until a couple of days before you leave.

Temperature wise... keeping my fingers crossed. I would hate for it to get below 60, but the 70s sounds perfect to me. I love just wearing a light jacket!

i agree 70 would be great!! i wouldn't even be wearing a jacket! lol:banana:

I'm just joining this thread too! We are going Feb 12-19th!
I like hearing about people's weather experiences in the cooler months. We went in Dec 2010 and wore winter coats the first half of trip, but by the last few days, we had shorts and t-shirts on and temps in upper 70's! It's fun to pack for every season :)

We were also there in Dec 2010 and were very glad for all the layers of clothing we had with us for our flight from Detroit. My avatar photo is from that trip. One day did end up warm enough for short sleeves during the day and would have been fine for shorts too. But I was still quite comfortable in slacks that took me all through the day and evening when it turned cooler and I had to add a light jacket. Last February we had sunny days with temperatures ranging from near 50 overnight up through the 70's during the daylight.

Five weeks from right now we should be sitting down eating our first Disney meal of 2013 :cheer2: We have a room only reservation booked through a Disney specialist TA so the only mail I expect in a couple of weeks are our ME tags. Today I began updating my packing list.

We are spending the first 1/2 of our trip in the cabins so I have been spending the past 2 days getting food made and freezing it. So far I have 3 dozen breakfast muffins made as well as 24 breakfast burritos and some rice krispie treats individually bagged. Next on the list will be various panini sandwiches and then sloppy joes and taco meat. We will be doing our own meals while in the cabins and then on the meal plan when we move to Art of Animation. I am trying to have as much pre-made as possible so all I have to do is thaw, warm and serve.

Speaking of making food- what types of food do you take in the car?

I'm planning to snack around the world in Epcot...unfortunately, our 'Ohana ADR is that night :( Still, I can have a few snacks..

That's a LOT of food- how many people are going??

The weather is driving me crazy too. Looking at my window right now, I can't even imagine weating short sleeves. I can't bring myself to pack summer clothes for our trip. I just have no idea what to wear! I think I'll stick with jeans, t-shirt and a sweather, so this way I can layer up or down.
