New October Thread

Vala, there are 2 hidden targets on Zurg's chest plate, in the first room and then again the last room. DBF got over 700,000 because he hit those targets last trip!! He was THRILLED and we had to ride Buzz time and again so he could try to beat that score! LOL
There are also high point targets hidden in the dark tunnel. A little bit of online research will reveal all.

We're going next week. 10/14-10/18. How did I miss this long thread of fellow Oct. DL visitors? I'm gonna' go check out the TR link.

I think our first ride may be Nemo on our MM (b/c the wait is long, right?) it wasn't open last time we were there, but thought we'd hit it first. I'm more excited about Buzz, Pirates, HM and Splash Mtn though. ;)

Gotcha down Julie..

I'm thinking.. I want to do the teacups.. i LoVe teacups! Last time i rode them there was no wait line at all..and when we were through.. we just jumped on another teacup as there were teacups sitting empty.

Chest plate? Someone told me they were on the belt!

I'm guessing I must probably have hit one in the last room by accident then. We were stuck there for quite a while.

400,000 on Toy Story? In my dreams probably. I think I made it to 38,000 and maybe 50,000 or something. All I remember is getting the beaver as a price, twice.

No they are definitely on his chest plate, I actually saw the little hole for the one in the first room! It's tiny and sooooooooooo hard to hit it, and if everyone around you is trying for it your chances are even less to get it, DBF was getting it but his laser was blocking mine so I never did. I should ride with one of the kids instead of him this time, I might get a much higher score! LOL

I know a lot of tricks on TSMM to make a lot of points.....working together with your seat partner you can open up some "boxes" that allow for extra point opportunities. :) You can google it, that's how I learned, I just typed Toy Story Midway Mania cheats/tips and got some hits. :)

There are also high point targets hidden in the dark tunnel. A little bit of online research will reveal all.

Yup, there are 3 in that tunnel, 1 on the right, 1 on the left and 1 on the ceiling, I always get those. :)

Two weeks from right now, we will have just arrived at Disneyland!:banana::banana: My first ride will be whatever they take us on first during the Happy Haunts tour. Our plan is to get into town, check in, head to the park for a very early dinner and take the tour. But if we get in a bit early, we will probably squeeze in Buzz before the tour. Or Pirates. Depends on the mood of the group, I guess...

Hiya Sweet babies! Updates completed.

So i've been out of it and missed the post about the Railroad being closed.. is this the thunder mountain railroad or is it big railroad that goes around the park?

Okay...what's the first ride everyone is going on! Tell me tell me:yay:

hmmmm....

I think Haunted Mansion or Indy or Space....unless I am at DCA first then it will be TSM or Soarin!!

Change of plans, we're going on the 26th. Hope it's not packed during the week, but i know since it's halloween on saturday, it'll be super busy.

:hug::hug::hug::hug: :woohoo::woohoo:

Our dates are Oct 22-25.

Change of plan again! We're staying at Hojo's Oct 22-24 instead of DLH. Couldn't get the second night at DLH.

Hi Fellow October park hoppers!
I have a quick question, and should probably post this on the main board, but figured I would try here.
We're staying at the Quality Inn and Suites-Anaheim at the Park, 10/13-10/17now. The reviews are all generally positive, bfast included and the price is right. It claims to be w/i walking distance, but I've never stayed anywhere but Paradise Pier when I've done DL.

Where is this hotel exactly? On the map it looks like it's right by DTD. Has anyone stayed here? Walked by it? Can you give me a suggestion? I've considered walking to DTD and taking the monorail into DL. Has anyone done that from there? Do the online passes work taking the monorail? We're going to try not doing the stroller this time. We'll rent or "borrow" a discarded one in the parks in the evening if dd (6) is too tired to go on.

TIA,
Julie
going w. dh (34), dd (9) and dd (6)!!!

:) I'm so excited.....Doing the single digit dance today!!! We'll be attending the Halloween party on the 21st and I can't wait. Does anyone else who's going on that day want to meet up for a quick "hello" and maybe a picture? I'd love to see what costumes everyone is wearing.

Dawn, my dear, can you please put my dates as Oct 21st, 23rd - 25th
:goodvibes

I'm so excited :cool1:

Hmm... I usually go by this map for walkable hotels, and the Quality Inn isn't on there: http://www.ineedavacation.com/disneyland/AnaheimHotelMap.html

Going from the Tripadvisor map it looks like it's a little further down the road from the HoJo. This is the Quality Inn at Manchester Avenue, right?

If it is, walking to DTD and Monorail from there wouldn't be an option then because you'd be passing the normal park entrance anyway.

I looked it up online, then googlemapped it...it's 1166 W Katella Ave , Anaheim, CA, US, 92802, right?

Could be interesting to walk up Disneyland Drive then follow the PPH directions to get into DTD for the monorail...but you could also turn into GCH, come out halfway through DTD, turn right and just walk to the esplanade.

I did about the same walk, the other way on Katella, from Anabella. Disneyland Drive is one huge hidden Mickey (do the satellite view of it and you should be able to see it, just south of PPH) and it's a pleasant road to walk on.

I will tell you though...I'd take my own stroller. That walk is killer at the end of the night. If she's tired in the parks, tired enough for you to take a stroller that you determine to have been abandoned (can't really recommend that!), she's going to be tired during the walk home. Don't go without a stroller. Or have a fund to get to Target and buy something. Rental strollers are now $15/day, and they don't cover the hardest part of the day since you can't take them out of the esplanade.

DS is 5 and never uses a stroller at home...but we're bringing one on the plane tomorrow for Disneyland, just in case.
