New October Thread

For those staying at HoJo this month, Lorealle just posted new Entertainment Rate days for Oct. 8th, 11th and 12th.

Yup, skipped right over my dates...LOL Oh well, Anaheim Plaza works for us! No worrying about the "parking nightmare" being discussed earlier.

Thanks to the PP who mentioned that the Railroad (as well as the SS Columbia) will be closed for part of the month! After all of thedrama over the late-breaking fireworks times, I wouldn't have thought to check the closures again so late.

Luckily they will be open our first day in the parks, so we will just have to be sure to experience them then!

PHXscuba,
beyond excited for next week!!:cloud9:

Hiya Sweet babies! Updates completed.

So i've been out of it and missed the post about the Railroad being closed.. is this the thunder mountain railroad or is it big railroad that goes around the park?

Okay...what's the first ride everyone is going on! Tell me tell me:yay:

Is the steam engines its a great ride especially for our small kids. But we have the halloween party at 7:30 on the 16th so not sure what we will do when we get there maybe go in to DL for a hour or so look for short line and go back to DCA for the party - it would have been a great time to take the trains ;(

so is the steam engine the one that goes around the park:confused3 the kids want to ride a train and I thought the train around the park to Toon Town would be fun.

The website says steam trains - I assume these are the big ones that go around the park that get to look at the dinosaurs.

Closed for Refurbishments:
Casey Jr. Circus Trains
Storybook Land Canal Boats
Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years
Gadget's Go Coaster
Steam Trains

Oh that is so SucKaRaMa about the trains.
gggrrrrr.. what's up with that last minute notice?

Aaaahhh Jrsy boy.. i hope that you and your family has a supergreat trip and that your son is blessed this year and always:flower3:

quadaunt.. i'm sorry i've missed your dates.. i am still not sure what dates to put down..so i'm going with 24 birthday at Disneyland and then returning on 10/29?:confused3
Please let me know what your dates are.

Heyya JoRo.. thanks for the info shared:hug:

srauchbauer...the trains are fun to ride when you're tired and sit and talk about what you want to do next and what a great time you've had so far.:upsidedow

Fairykin: I will be celebrating my October 24th birthday at Disneyland (taking the Happiest Haunts tour that day as well). I will then return on October 29 with two of my sisters, niece and her family to spend the day at the DLR and attend MToTP that evening. I will be renewing my annual pass on my birthday (yep -- live 2000 miles away and have an AP -- can you tell I love the place? :lovestruc) and will be at the DLR for at least a portion of a few other days that week, but not sure which days so we won't list those. I'm staying at my niece's vacation home in Huntington Beach. I've never seen the parks decked out for Halloween, so am looking forward to it. One of my sisters who will be attending MToTP with me has a Halloween birthday so it will be fun to celebrate her birthday at the parks on the 29th.

Many thanks for your work on updating the list!

Hey everyone..remember to post some pics from your trip on the group trip report! I think this is a first group trip report from a monthly thread.:goodvibes And that's really kewl.:yay:

quadaunt.. i think i have your dates down right..if not please let me know how you want them corrected and i'll do it.:upsidedow

Okay...what's the first ride everyone is going on! Tell me tell me:yay:

Buzz Lightyear.

I've been looking forward all year to that one. :lovestruc

If someone claims he knows a person who spent an entire Magic Morning last year continously riding Buzz, that person wasn't me. :rolleyes1

I swear.

I only spent 45 minutes on the ride that day.

Vala.. buzz is so fun.. one time my husband and i went to disneyland alone and we had never ridden buzz.. there were no lines for it..we went on again and again and again and again ...:rotfl: ..it was soooo much fuN! i loved it:lovestruc
How are you healing? I hope you are getting stronger everyday. And that you have safe travel!

This is a nice group of people, i've enjoyed sharing time while we all plan.:grouphug:

That's exactly what happened to us too. Everybody ran for Nemo, Matterhorn and Space... and then there was yours truly going "Buzz is open!"

I made more than 100,000 points for the first time that morning, and was very bouncy when we went around to ride again. I pulled my sunglasses down and jokingly told my friend: "You can call me the great and powerful Oz." A CM thought we were so funny that he gave me one of those Tinker Bell "Year of a Million Dreams" pins. :goodvibes

I'm better, thanks for asking. I came back from the doctor about an hour ago and he said at least it looks like the cast will be off as promised, so nothing will get in the way of travel.

We decided to try the Disneyland Express on the way in now. My boyfriend is a car mechanic, and they had a bus in the shop today. The driver was nice and allowed me to test hopping on on crutches. I made it, and seemed less dangerous to me than Supershuttle.

For the way back to the airport we got a towncar.

All that's left now is to call Deckert's to rent the ECV, but I'll do that next week or so. I'm a bit scared that the order will get misplaced if I call too early.

We are moving our trip to Dec  it is a bitter sweet thing.. We always go in Dec and I thought that Oct would be better this year, but I need need Dec. @ Disney LOL.. Anyone going the 15th that doesn't have TOT tix yet?? I have 2 adults 2 childrens tix that it is too late to sell them.. So if someone wants them they can have them... (I hope it is ok to post that..)

DBF and I are like that with Buzz, especially now that he figured out where the super mega points are hidden on Zurg! LOL I was never able to see them but he found them last trip. We tend to ride Buzz while the girls are off riding Space or Star Tours, we just go round and round.....love that ride! :)

Okay...what's the first ride everyone is going on! Tell me tell me:yay:

Pirates. We should pull in to HoJo around 4, set up the room, then head over to the park. We have 6pm PS at Blue Bayou, so going through Pirates right before sets the mood for the evening. We'll wait for a waterfront table. If you float through the ride while we're eating, yell out and I'll toss a role!

On our very last ride last year I made it to 487,000 something points. To this very day I have no idea at all which target I hit, but it must have been a good one. I made it into the top scorer list for that day, and boy was I proud. :cool1:

I still prefer Buzz a lot over Toy Story Mania. That one is a great ride too, but I don't really think it's worth the long lines. :rolleyes1

We tried first during TOT Party last year and gave up because the line was unbearable. It wasn't even that long with 25 minutes, but way too many parents decided that they had to do the ride OMGrightnow and dragged their kids who were wailing in various degrees and versions "I want to go trick or treating" or "I want to see character X" through the line with them. Not cool.

Anyway, the next day the single rider line was open, so we split because we wanted to try the ride. I found it okay and rode it again the same day, but it was nothing I would line up an hour for. My room mate's one and only comment was: "Can we go back to Disneyland and ride Buzz again?" :rotfl:

Vala, there are 2 hidden targets on Zurg's chest plate, in the first room and then again the last room. DBF got over 700,000 because he hit those targets last trip!! He was THRILLED and we had to ride Buzz time and again so he could try to beat that score! LOL

We did TSMM first one of those days, he got the high score of the day for that first ride, it was over 400,000 so it was a good score, but not huge. By the time we went back thru (we got off and went right back on) his score was already obliterated. LOL

Chest plate? Someone told me they were on the belt!

I'm guessing I must probably have hit one in the last room by accident then. We were stuck there for quite a while.

400,000 on Toy Story? In my dreams probably. I think I made it to 38,000 and maybe 50,000 or something. All I remember is getting the beaver as a price, twice.
