New Oasis Sister Ships

It seems like this news passed me by with all of the Quantum of the Seas hubbub. Two additional Oasis-class ships are in the works, which really surprised the heck out of me. I honestly thought that a Royal Caribbean executive said something to the effect that they would not be producing any more megaships in the near future. Well I guess the future came quicker than expected.

It's pretty interesting to consider how many passengers are going to be on these four ships at sea when these projects are completed. Mind-boggling actually.

Did everybody else is known about this? I just assumed that I am the odd man out.

RCI just recently (early May) announced the signing of the contract for the Oasis class ship #4 and I think I heard that there is an option for a #5.

The Oasis #3 was announced quite a while ago (2012), and the #4 announcement was made pubic at the keel laying ceremony for Oasis 3 in France.

Oasis #3 will be sailing spring of 2016, and #4 in 2018.

They are being built by STX a shipyard in France.
