This is not the Christmas one, but a normal one which will preview at the Celebration of Harry Potter this month then run some in February, and based on the park hours for March and beyond nearly every night.

Get out your house robes and scarves – a new projection mapping experience is coming to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort. The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle celebrates the four houses of Hogwarts by transforming the castle in a dazzling display of lights, special effects and music.

As night falls, you’ll see the spirit of each house wrap itself around the castle. Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff will all be represented, each house showcasing its pride in its own unique way.

And of course, it’s all set to incredible music based on the original scores from the Harry Potter films.

The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle will debut on Wednesday, January 31 and is scheduled to run Feb. 5, and Feb. 7 – Feb. 12 (additional dates will be announced at a later time). You can preview it during A Celebration of Harry Potter on Saturday, Jan. 27 and Sunday, Jan. 28.

And – if you’re A Celebration of Harry Potter package holder, you can be among the first to see it during an exclusive preview event on Friday, Jan. 26.

This is the second projection mapping experience we’ve featured in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Over the holiday season, The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle made its debut at Universal Orlando. This brought Christmas moments inspired by the Harry Potter films to life.

If you made it out here to see that magic, you won’t want to miss this. For me, seeing my house colors of green and silver (go Slytherin!) on Hogwarts took my breath away.

I hope it's better than the Christmas one. I have to say I was a little disappointed in that one. It was pretty but I don't know why they didn't use IP from the movies and instead used the cheapest of animated graphics depicting the characters. I'm thinking in particular of the scene where Hermione and Krum are dancing. It looked like graphics that children learn to do in computer class IMO. It would have been a complete tear jerker and must see had they used actual footage. I'm sure it has everything to do with rights and such but still.

Would anyone willing to get me 2 bertie botts chocolate frog cards at the HP weekend please PM me. I have paypal to send $ quickly.
THANK YOU

Any idea how long the show (approx) would be if it’s similar to the holiday one? Thanks!

They have to keep it short to cycle people through that small area. As it is you often can't get to the rides or even the shops when the christmas show is playing. They originally had the christmas project show at something line 20 minutes but then realized they really needed it shorter.

Will they play it once or multiple times a night? This looks like it would be fun to catch one of the nights we are there.

I would assume multiple times like the christmas show. Not many people can cram into hogmeade - relative to total number of park guests - at one time. No reason not to.

I just watched the video posted by the DIS. It looks wonderful- can't wait to see it!

I just happened to be in Orlando working and I was there last night to see the light show and it was incredible. They ran it starting at 6:15pm and then every 30 minutes after that until closing at 8pm. It even has fireworks!

30 minutes? That seems long between 6 minute shows. When we are going it says they start at 7:15 and park closes at 8:00, so they’ll only run it twice?

I think they are still working out the times. I was told from one cast member that it started at 6:15 and it ran ever 15 minutes, but when I got there at 6:25, the person on site said the next show was 6:40 and that is when it started.
