Just noticed on that Newlestter page that there will be new hats released this month.
"Shoppers Alert!

November is Hat Month in VMK! Last weekend we re-released the Sorcerer Mickey Hat. The rest of the month we'll introduce one new hat each weekend. Each hat will be available in the Emporium, but only for the dates listed. Mark your calendar!

* November 11-13 Musketeer Hat
* November 18-20 Peter Pan Hat
* November 25-27 Reversed Baseball Hat"

So mark your calendars to make sure that you get these hats before they're gone!

Also: a new type of event.

Cast your votes! This week across America, in cities large and small. people are voting for candidates and issues. And it's the same story in VMK - we're giving you the chance to vote too! We'll be renaming some shirts just for the election; wearing them is how you register your vote. After the Event is over, their old names will come back.

The Emporium shop will be your Polling Place. Look for the shirts in the Specials area, and buy the one that matches your vote. Wear the shirt around VMK to show others how you voted; it's a great way to get to know who agrees (and disagrees) with your opinion, and a cool way to make new friends.

Friday, November 11: Who is your favorite -- Shrunken Ned, the Yeti, Esmerelda, Captain Blackheart, or the Dragon? Don't be surprised to see some campaigning going on this week; they seem determined to sway your vote by making promises.

Saturday, November 12: What is your favorite VMK game? We know you play them to win credits, and maybe to try for the High Score. But which one is your absolute favorite, win or lose?

Sunday, November 13: When is your next trip to a Disney Park? We hope you have plans to visit Disneyland Resort in California or Walt Disney World in Florida; the question is, how soon are you going? Choose the shirt that most closely matches your plans; if you don't have a trip planned within the next 12 months, choose the 12+ month vote. Be sure to let us know if this will be your first trip (short sleeves) or not (long sleeves).

The results will be in next week's Newsletter, but you can get an idea on how the vote is going by spending time in VMK and seeing who's wearing which shirt.

yes!

the main reason i must say that i am happy about this:
because i like costume stuff more than pins! i would much rather get a hat instead of a pin every weekend.

but i pose a question: will the peter pan hats be boys only? hmmmmm.....

Could someone tell me what a Musketeer hat would look like?

I'm visualizing a hat with the brim turned up on one side and a huge plume feather sticking out of it, kind of like Captain Hook's hat.

Is that right?

Well it is nice to know when things are going to come out. Now we are not allowed to say when we are going to WDW or the big white hand comes to get us, but it is ok to wear the possible ETA. UM..... How much will it cost us to vote do you think. Or are these freebies, one per character. Sounds like you could trade them or convince others to join your side. So there must be a cost. Is this a truly fair election if you have to pay to vote. I am not sure that is very democratic. I will have to open a room full of Ned's shirts to give out to the credit-challenged so they can support the Ned group. Well Of course I am just kidding with my dry sometimes very dry sense of humour. But I might just open up a campaign centre for Ned. Without him most would not know the joys of shopping on VMK.

Well it is nice to know when things are going to come out. Now we are not allowed to say when we are going to WDW or the big white hand comes to get us, but it is ok to wear the possible ETA. UM.....

I had the same thoughts when reading this. We can't talk about our trips, but we can announce it to everyone but what we wear??? HUH? And what about the other parks? What do I wear for Disneyland Paris? And how do I wear multiple shirts since I'll be going back to Disneyland and probably WDW in the next 12 months.

Well, at least this solves the main problem with past events. We won't be trying to get into a room. Unless the Emporium gets backed up.

Well I suspect that next weekend the emporium will be rather busy all weekend-

I do wonder if you get to purchase all the shirts? How much will they cost? And will they be tradable? What about those who really don't have a favorite? I suspect that ned won't get as many votes since he has had a shirt for a while unless these shirts are something completely new. Curious about the game shirts also.

And with ya'll on the whole when are we going to DL, WDW or what ever- and is it first time or more- because they don't like you to discuss trips- so why on earth would this be a good idea- and what about those of us who may have more than one trip planned- we may go in January (just dh and I) and again in March (kids going depends on when the convention is- and if kids can miss school because of state testing here in March)

About hats- I'm thrilled about the hats coming out- especially the Muskateer hat- I really like that one- of course the first time I read it I read "Mousketeer" and was thinking but we already have black ears lol

And Peter Pan hats- now we can all never grow up- and for the person who asked if it will be "Boy" only- I doubt it- but it shouldn't be since more girls have played Peter Pan than boys have...

Dh likes the hats except the backwards baseball hat- at our house we call those hats broken- and dh says only reason to wear a hat backwards are if you are a catcher on baseball team or riding in a boat and don't want to lose the hat- so he will probably skip getting that one- I'm guessing these will be in the 500-1000 credit range there too...

Well I'm off to visit ned like the rest...

So if these are normal old clothes that are already available, then i dont have much of an interest in that. If they were new speical shirts, then maybe.

But i guess i need to check out what stands for what.

Otherwise i could be wandering around vmk all weekend and be advertising that i am a right wing liberal who believes in the right to choose, gun control, dessert before dinner, bubble bath solution in the jacuzzi, daughters locked in a tower until they are 25 years old, Chocolate mousse, chocolate cake, choclate ice cream, whipped cream, coookies and cream, cream and sugar, and free speech..but is opposed to coupons, nafta, the war in iraq, the doofus we call president, traffic, rain clouds, hayfever, scarlet fever, disco fever, fever with chills, vegetables with a good steak, and asking women about their day ...

and not even realize it.
