A little background. 15th wedding anniversary trip for us. We love the beach and also like things very informal and laid-back. I don't fly, am scared of boats, yet I love the idea of an island theme (cause I'll never get there otherwise!). CBR sounds very much like what we are looking for. Does it really have an atmosphere of a Caribbean island? I've read where there are alot of kids there (NOT what we're looking for). But is there a particular village that would be best (we don't mind walking - although Trinidad South looks a little far on the maps) for not having alot of kids around? Thanks.

First, welcome to the DIS! You'll find people are reaaalllly helpful here.

We were at CBR for the first time this April -- we loved it! I've never been to the actual Caribbean Islands, and for me it felt like I'd finally gotten there! Maybe if you go to the real Caribbean Islands all the time CBR won't be so amazing, but we thought it was just beautiful.

Lots of white-sand beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a great walk around the Promenade that encircles the lake.... and mind you, we were there in APRIL, and it did not seem crowded to us, because of the way it's set up. I just think you'll love it.

Safetymom has photos posted that will help, and you can also find dozens on allearsnet.com.... but first, check out the 2 FAQ links below that Safetymom started... you'll get tons of good info there from a whole bunch of people!

Have fun!

Thanks. That makes me feel better about our choice!

Thank you catbertdave99. Many folks like Trinidad South because it is more secluded. It will be a longer walk to the food court and main pool.

You really can't go wrong no matter where you stay at CBR. :) It is a beautiful resort.

You will feel like you have escaped to the islands. :)

You might want to read the FAQ's listed below along with all the photos I have posted. If you have any CBR questions you might want to ask in the FAQ thread. You will get lots of answers.

I love a tropical/island theme too, which is why we LOVED the CBR when we've stayed there :sunny:

As far as there being "a lot of kids" there, there are a lot of kids everywhere because it's Disney World :earboy2: However, we found our stays at CBR to be relatively quiet, no noise from neighboring rooms, and the grounds are beautiful and peaceful.

Check out my web site, I have pictures and comments from our 2 stays there. The link is below in my signature, then scroll down to find the link to our "May 2001" trip, and then click on the large CBR Icon for pictures and comments from the 2002 trip. Enjoy! :flower:

Thanks for replys. I'll check out the FAQ for CRB. Know there'll be lots of kids, just wondering if this was a more popular moderate resort than some of the other ones for folks with kids.

The kids are mostly confined to the pool areas, especially the main pool. My DW and I didn't find it crowded at all when we stayed there in March. We love CBR and will definitely be back. :moped: We stayed in Aruba across the lake, but you sound like prime candidates for Trinidad South.

Enjoy! You'll love it, too!
