***NEW MyMagic & FastPass+ Official Information & FAQ Thread***

Hi, I'm still confused and apologize if I am misunderstanding... I read somewhere that the rides are "tiered or categorized". How does that work and what are you limited to per day? Also, is this per day of your stay or per night of you stay like DDP? What about on nights that the park is open past midnight? Does that still count on previous days 3 or does it count towards next day? Might be a silly question because I dont think it would be super crowded that late but, I was curious. My date to plan is in a month so, I'm trying to finalize ADR's which would finalize park plans so that I can make the FP+ list. It's such a domino effect. TIA

Tiering: At Epcot and DHS only at this time, you can only choose one FP+ experience from a "top tier" of attractions, and two from the rest. The top tiers at each I believe are:

Epcot: Soarin', Test Track, Maelstrom, IllumiNations, Epcot Character Spot
DHS: Toy Story Mania, Rock'n'Rollercoaster, Fantasmic, Beauty and the Beast

It is per day, not per night. With the DDP, you get a number of points per night of your stay, but you can use ALL the points at any point as you get them up front. With FP+, you get three selections, per day.

And it is a "park day", which means from open to close, even if it is after Midnight. Most post-midnights are during EMH, however, and I'm not sure they allow booking during EMH yet anyways...

Epcot and Hollywood Studios currently have tier 1 and tier 2 attractions. For your three FP+ per operating day, you can choose one FP+ from tier 1 and then two from tier 2.

MK and AK do not currently have tiers -- you can choose from the full list of FP+ attractions/entertainment for your three.

Epcot tier 1 attractions include Soarin', Test Track, Maelstrom, Illuminations, and Character Spot. DHS tier 1 includes Toy Story Mania, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Fantasmic, Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage.

FP+ are per day. You can't bank them like dining credits.

Lots of info to help with questions like yours can be found via the green link in my signature.

The limit is 3 FPs per operational day, with no regard to calendar days.

I'm glad you mentioned that because PM EMH are always part of our plans and I wasn't even thinking about them not allowing FP+ during that time since regular FP was always an option during it.

FP wasn't always available during evening EMH either. It was more or less up to the attraction manager.

If memory serves, regular FP was rarely an option during EMH.

Evening EMH FP _did_ happen, but I think it was only for a few attractions and only when really busy. They reset everything - you couldn't pull a FP until EMH started, and there was a 30 minute or so "offset" so the returns didn't start right away.

But I think as time went on they did it less and less, especially after EMH was cut to two hours...

Yes, we've used FP during evening EMH. We always travel in the summer when it's really busy. I mainly recall using it for Buzz Lightyear and Pirates and then there were many others which gave us a FP during regular hours that had a return time during EMH.

Pirates? That hasn't had Fastpass in almost a decade... :)

And they shouldn't have been issuing post "park close" Fastpasses during the day, since they technically couldn't be used by guests not eligible for EMH...

Well then I must be mistaken

Back from our single day at MK. Not sure my observations are of much help to the multiday on-site guests, but FWIW, FP+ worked well for folks like us because we didn't have to figure out how to use it. There were cast members at every kiosk to do it all for you.

A guy in front of me was trying to do it himself and having all kinds of trouble -- I heard him say "I guess I'm going too fast for it."

The cast member had her portable iPad, we told her what we wanted to do, and she started offering times until we were happy. We got FP for BTMR, Peter Pan and SM, at something like 2:40, 3:40 and 5:25, respectively.

The park was not hugely crowded, though I did see wait times of 60 minutes for several of the Fantasyland rides and also Jungle Cruise in the afternoon.

It was disappointing to be limited to three FP, though on a day like yesterday, not really a drawback. From 9-11 p.m., we walked on to all the Fantasyland rides that had monster wait times earlier.

This may be common knowledge, but I was disappointed to discover that the paintbrushes are gone from Tom Sawyer's island. No FP goodies there anymore.

MDX for Android got an update last night to 1.5.4. Typical "bug fixes and performance enhancements" line. Don't know if it is any more usable yet.

I believe they stopped doing that quite some time ago.
