New Mugs

Hi will be getting QS Dinning Plan for the first 2 days of are trip. So I get the mug. The rest of trip planning on renting DVC points. So when I get the mugs with dinning plan can I get them for entire stay or are they only good for the 2 days we will be on plan? Can I pay to upgrade for entire trip?

They will probably expire at midnight of the day you check out of your first resort. You'll probably have to activate them (pay for them) for the rest of the trip on DVC points.

But if you are staying at a DVC resort, you'll have a bigger refrigerator. So why not just fill it with you favorite beverages for less money? And use the mug to drink your own beverages.

When are you doing this? Because we were there last week and ended up with 12 mugs for our family of four because we moved from resort to resort. We only used the first four we received (why dirty up the rest)? So...as of now..you can use your mugs that you get at the first resort at the DVC resort (and in my opinion it is still the same vacation so you fall under the spirit of "length of stay").

New mug policy implemented. Should be fully implemented by Monday, Aug 25.

We're leaving Sept 1 for a week and will be staying at Kidani Village...we got a letter a couple days saying the refrigerators have not yet been replaced so we won't have one.

The refrigerator recall only applied to the small cube size cooler boxes (with no freezer) in some of the regular resorts. It did not affect any of the DVC units, as they have actual refrigerators with freezers. It sounds like the generic letter was sent to all people visiting now, including DVC. You should be fine, provided you are in a DVC unit.

Thanks so much!! I knew I read on here it wouldn't affect DVC but then we got the letter so I thought something had changed.

We are in a similar situation.

We are staying at AKL 2 nights, but are moving to POFQ due to no availability at AK. We are tying the dining plan into the Animal Kingdom nights, but are not doing the plan while at POFQ.

I have received conflicting data, but have been told directly by Disney that length of stay means onsite, not per resort. The mugs should be good the entire trip.

I specifically asked when I called a few days ago, as I have dp for 1st couple nights and not for the rest. The mugs made dp worth it for first few days. The cm said yes whole stay. ... Could be incorrect, but her 2 cents was it is okay.
