Ok- got a mp3 sansa clip for Christmas. How do you download itunes onto it? It won't let me convert the songs to mp3 format- I changed the preferences to convert the songs to mp3 format and now have the option to change it to mp3 format when I right click, but once I go to change the songs, it won't let me actually do it. Do I have to download the songs onto a cd and then back onto my windows media player for itunes to work?
TIA!

Uggg, I feel your pain. (I was having this discussion with a friend, yesterday) iTunes isn't compatible with any other music player than iPod (this is an intional marketing strategy, of course). The easiest route would be to burn cds, then rip to the music player that your son's mp3 player is compatible with. A pain, I know.... that's why you should by an iPod. :rotfl: :sad2:

ok- we are now downloading to cd and then onto windows media player and then onto mp3 player... sounds like a lot- but really doesn't take a lot of time. DH and DD9 both got mp3 players for Christmas and we got a new computer as well, so it has been two days of figuring things out! DH now has the itunes working, but he is ocd and can't get the files on his mp3 player to download right- songs not in the files that he had them on wmp or something like that. I told him to get over it and forget the files- that is what the screen on the mp3 player is for- to pick the songs you want to hear!
Anyway, thanks for the help!

You can actually rip songs from CD directly to iTunes.... there's no need for wma reformatting, if you want to save time.

I'm not sure I'm following you.... you download the song from itunes onto the cd and then put it on your itunes desktop and then to your mp3? Is that compatible with mp3? Just not sure I understand what you are meaning...

Pull up iTunes. Put CD in drive. CD will come up under "device." Double click on CD and click add to library (this usually pops up instantly).

Thanks for the help- dh has now been downloading songs happily for several hours..... it's like he's a darned teenager again! :rotfl2:
