going to disney in october. my precious baby boy will be 8 months old. best easiest light weight foldable stroller is.....? semi-affordable would be great too

i currently have a travel system - Safety 1st Lift LX Travel System Stroller - Nautical Navy

also have Babies R Us Trendsport Stroller - Slate-- new in box, yet to use, willing to return and get new one under your recommendations.


i would like my baby to be able to rest comofrtable, be able to feed him in there (maybe lil tray with cup holder) lil storage under easy to maninuver

key is baby comfy and can nap and i can fold easy - everything else is bonus.

please help. anxious mom here.

Are you driving or flying? We took our 10month old in May and we rented a city mini, and I liked it.

I didn't want to fly with a stroller, if I was driving maybe I would have brought my own.

i've got the best of both worlds. going with everyone in the family. my parents, my in laws, my sister and her fam and my brother. my husbnand and father in law are taking auto train (they are afraid to fly) so we will have a car down there but i'm flying with the baby and the rest of the family.

I've used the trendsport and didn't like how hard the backrest was. Jeep Wrangler makes a midsize lightweight stroller; it sells at Walmart for around $40 if I'm not mistaken. I'd take that and gate check it before boarding the plane. It will be available to you upon landing and de-planing.

I don't know anything about the 2 strollers you mentioned in the post, but I will say when my babies were still in an infant seat, I loved the flexibility of a travel stroller system. It worked especially well for dining at restaurants. I was lucky in that both of my boys slept well in their car seats and I think at that age, the combination works better than an actual stroller. Our last trip, we did rent a City Mini Double and both boys did great in that (ages 3 & 15 months). My husband did most of the folding down and such, but he said it was a lot easier to breakdown and carry than our double Bob that we had at the house.

Make sure you have a stroller fan also, it will help a lot. It can be mid to high 90's in October, and they are great.

I have a City Micro (more affordable, VERY similar to the Mini). I love it and recommend it to anyone. I didn't have a lightweight stroller anymore (my now 6yo's had long since been sold). I hesitated spending $100 (found a sale), but it has been worth the money for me. You will want something with a good sun shade and nice recline. At 8 months, I'm not sure that you would get much use out of a tray. And any stroller can have a parent console added. I have the Diono which was $10, and I know some other brands can be found at BBB and BRU for around $10. Honestly, you should go to the store and see what you like for recline, sunshade coverage, ease of folding.

We use a Britax B-Agile and love it. Excellent sun coverage, good maneuverability, light weight and simple to fold. It is very similar to the City Mini. We have flown with it 3 times without a problem. Honestly, I can't imagine trying to make it through an airport without a stroller. The airlines will gate-check for no fee.

Our first trip with it was when my little guy was 7 months old. It worked great, but I really couldn't have made it without my baby carrier. He wanted to be held/worn more than pushed, and had to be carried in lines. The combination of my stroller and a Becco carrier made for a very nice trip.

Another vote for renting a City Mini. They are awesome. We rented one down there with my oldest was 9 mo. Loved it so much, we bought a double when our second child was born. They are so comfortable for them and have great shade. If you only need it for this trip, you can rent for much cheaper than buying.

This is an excellent point. Unless someone is always going to be willing to stay with the stroller, you will also benefit from a carrier. Even if you have a stroller "sitter", it is nice for baby to get out. Depending where you are, it is also sometimes easier to park the stroller rather than try to push it through narrower, crowded spaces (ie some of the countries in Epcot). We were also able to keep him in it for most rides which was nice. Just pay attention that baby doesn't overheat depending on your weather. We had the stroller and carrier for our 10mo, and I highly recommend having both.

i love my city mini lite, it has near full recline, my 8 month old loves it. push button to fold, maneuvers like a dime and there is no tip! the other umbrella stroller we used at disney we would put the backpack on the handles and it would tip back if dd got out, this has a great design that doesn't tip. it is only 16lbs too! i got it on amazon they had a great promotion to get a $100 giftcard for free if you buy it, so i got it for super cheap. not sure if they still have the deal. either way it is the best stroller we bought

I am a mom to 4 and have owned many strollers. We took our youngest this last Oct and she was only 12 weeks. I researched strollers for several months and reading these treads as well. The number 1 stroller recommended was city mini! So I found it on sale and it was the best money ever spent! It is great for everything! One hand sterring. I did opt for the 4 wheel city mini instead of the 3 wheel one though but it is so easy to hold baby and fold one handed to get on the bus. So my vote 100% city mini. Have a great trip!

I also agree make sure you have an ergo or another nice carrier. They are a life savior standing in line! To help with over heating is to use a cooling towel in between you and baby when its the hottest part of the day! Enjoy

I like the Maclaren. It's incredibly lightweight, folds up easily and has a huge sun visor which is great. It's kind of pricey but I love it when we travel.

I definitely would NOT use a travel system or a car seat at the parks. Those get way too hot and if you Google it, babies really should not be in their car seats any longer than necessary for health reasons (something about the positioning). Unless you have a nonstop flight, I also would not risk flying without a gate checked stroller. We have a click connect which is reversalble - the seat with a way to lift the foot rest which makes it almost like a bassinet which I love, but it's expensive like around $200 - once my kids have been able to lift their heads on their own etc , I feel like any regular stroller with a tray/cup for baby and me works for us.

wasn't planning on bringing my travel system. i want to have a simple stroller. something fast/easy to fold, light weight but good for baby to fall asleep in whenever he wants. don't want to spend more than $200 probably because my travel system was already expensive.

I have owned many strollers over the last several years, my husband says I have a problem. We rented the City mini at Disney on the last 2 trips(my daughter only uses a stroller at Disney other wise I would have purchased one). The City mini is the best stroller I have used. It folds easy, light weight, easy to push, good storage, my daughter seemed comfortable and could nap. She loved the stroller and cried when we returned it at the end of our trip. They are not cheap to purchase. You could check second hand stores or craigslist maybe to get one cheaper.

I am offering another vote for City Mini. The seat almost completely reclines, the sun shade comes almost all of the way down and folding is so so so easy!! I've added the website below that shows how they work. Renting is definitely cheaper than buying, but after seeing how they work, I HAD to buy one for home.

thanks everyone. i'm going to go to my local babies r us and play with a city mini and see how it feels with a return of the transporter which i've never used and coupon i may be able to swing it.

i see city mini and city mini GT do u guys perfer one over the other? I noticed $100 differnces but only seems like it's for tougher terrians the GT?
