New Mom Advice Needed!!! Formula Feeding in Disney!

We used ready to feed with my newborn and then switched her over to powdered with no problems. She took it room temperature. Powdered is MUCH easier to travel with, it is lighter than bottles full of liquid, it is the greener option, the cheaper option, and you can partition out the powder into ziploc baggies for already measured portions or simply so you don't have to bring the entire canister. If baby is only taking ready to feed, consider switching, and make sure to do it days+ BEFORE you go. You won't know if your baby will take powdered until you offer it.

When we went to WDW with infants, we ordered the single serve nursette bottles from Enfamil and had them shipped directly to our resort. They are expensive but so convenient since you don't have to worry about mixing, measuring, keeping cold, etc. They are glass single serve bottles, so all you need to bring are nipples/rings to screw on to the bottle. When the feeding is done, toss the bottle and put the used nipple in a zip lock to wash when you get back to the hotel.

I called the resort in advance to get the exact address and any other info I needed to have on the shipping label. We had no issues and the packages were ready and waiting when we checked in.

Lots of good advise so far.

Take whatever your baby is eating at the time of the trip. I completely agree that on vacation is not the time to try something new. If it's ready to eat then I'd probably ship most of it but take some 'just in case' because it's heavy. If I had a car or car service from MCO then I'd stop and buy what I needed on my way to WDW. I'd pick up diapers, wipes and disposable changing pads too.

I'm a mom of four and taken all my babies, all at different stages of feeding, on all kinds of trips :) They all seemed to eat/nurse differently, so in addition to breastfeeding I've traveled with pumped breast milk, powdered formula and ready to eat formula. The powdered was the easiest for me because I didn't have anything heavy to haul (I'd just buy water as I needed it) and there was nothing I had to worry about keeping cold.

My bottle babies all used Playtex Nursers, so I only had to worry about the nipples and bottle holders. I'd rinse them after the feeding, then at night wash them in hot soapy water or run them through a dishwasher. Having the disposable liner was a dream for travel. I love the suggestion of the Enfamil glass bottles if that's a formula your little one likes. Hot, soapy water or a dishwasher would be fine for your bottles if you don't want to haul the sterilizer with you.

Disney parks are awesome with because there is always a quiet, pretty place to sit for a feeding.

Ready to feed bottles are very expensive. We always traveled with powdered formula and took in bottled water to use to mix it. I would get the baby used to room temp bottles as it will be much easier for you. You can mix a bottle anywhere anytime. I never sterilized bottles either. We brought dish soap and a bottle brush and washed them out in the hotel. Use the baby care centers as well. They are very nice for a rest/break when your baby needs a diaper change or to eat.

Anyway to get baby puree foods and dishwashing liquid at the resorts or parks other than shipping ahead of time

I am going to echo the formula dispenser so you can pre-scoop the powder portion. We haven't been to Disney with bottles but did travel when he had bottles and I always went ahead and filled the bottle with water so it was ready to go. He wasn't temp picky so as long as it wasn't ice cold, he drank it. Pre-filling the bottle with water helped it reach a room temperature by the time he ate. I also purchased a fresh bottle brush (get the one with a nipple cleaner built into the handle) and just washed in the sink with dish detergent. If you have access to a microwave, you can boil some water in a cup to pour over for extra sanitizing.

Some babies are picky about the type of water used for their bottles. A friend could only use 'nursery water' for her little one or else she'd get gas pains that would keep her up at night. The water at Disney might be different from the water at home, so if the baby gets fussy or refuses bottles this could be one explanation.

Room temp is the way to go! Made my mom and mil crazy but so much easier! We used the formula sorter and just dumped, shook, and fed.

powder formula is great, you can also buy the little baby waters and bring clean bottles...very easy..
