New MK Paid Disney After Hours Event Announced

This is so sad. :sad2: I used to LOVE e-ride nights and felt that it was money well spent. I've always hated EMHs and secretly hoped that they would bring back e-ride nights, but this is insane. $150 is ridiculous.
I never thought I would hit my Disney limit, but I'm just about there.

I'm going to put a question mark in the title, but, again, it's nothing new for news to trickle out prior to being officially announced...

From what I've read - this event is supposedly going to have only 3,000 tickets avail per night. If so, that is nowhere near the attendance of an event like MNSSHP, which is approx 25K per night. That may be where they are justifying the cost.

I was thinking the same thing. My guess is this is a trial to see how it goes. If it is a success, then I think we can kiss EMH good bye. Just another way to get people to pay for what used to be included in your resort stay. If this does get rid of EMH, I will definitely be staying offsite from here on out, it is the last of the perks that cause us to consider onsite.
Same thing for us! We already spend a crazy amount to stay onsite in the dvc villas when condos offsite are seventy percent less. EMH was really the only onsite perk we cared about.

That price is like double of a party night (like MNSSHP)!! Crazy! Not happy!! They are so trying to price out everyone. And that survey going around about resort fees. Bad Disney..... I'm going to have to get another job to just pay for my Disney vacations! grrrr

The only way I would pay that is if it is anything like those conference events at the MK. They will have to offer food and drinks . If it is just and extra 3 hours of rides there is just no way.

They are starting to make it seem the $15 resort fee for extra magic hours reasonable :crazy2:
I think that may be their end game.

Ahahaha.

There is absolutely NO way I will pay that, and I'm willing to pay extremely inflated prices for a lot of dumb stuff that Disney slaps it's name on. They have crossed the line here for my pricing. MAYBE if this was my one and only once in a lifetime trip, but I legitimately don't see the point for those of us who go frequently and have "been there done that".

How will this affect those dates? I have a one day only @MK planned with FP for mine train already chosen. We can't switch to other days bc our FP and ADRS are already reserved ... If those dates are right, my whole plan just blew up in my face. Especially if I have to leave early and dont get to see the MSEP/WISHES.

Planning so far ahead is frustrating but can be so rewarding, so I do it. But planning so far ahead and then have Disney change things on me, and basically make my hours and hours of hard work go out the window? That's just frustrating.

I think you are jumping to conclusions. I can't see them changing the close time and taking away MSEP/Wishes this close to the dates.

If this is true, they better not shorten the regular hours. One of my MK days falls on one of the dates, and I would be EXTREMELY unhappy if this is true. ADRs and FPs can't be moved around this late. And if this increased crowd levels...>:(

If this is an easy way for Disney to gauge guest opinion/willingness by "leaking" information...hopefully they see the general reaction of this board and nix the idea. Or, it would even better if it was a completely unfounded rumor.

$150pp is far too expensive for what the announcement promises. If there is nothing unique, how is this worth it at all? It's cheaper to buy a single day ticket, and adding another to our ticket is very low.

I'd strongly consider staying offsite if this became the "new" EMH, since apparently I'd need to save money to be able to afford a full day in the parks.

Perfect marketing if you ask me. Everyone talking about it. Negative attention is still attention. Making people feel it is limited numbers of people. Limited time frame ect. That concept makes people part with their money eaiser.
Universal has some crazy pricing as well. Front of the line tickets, no restriction tickets ect.
Would I buy it, No. Will people buy it and it sell out. Most likely. EMH seem to be going away. Last year DD and I were the last two people in the MK during EMH. Cool. They walked us out.
I am glad were going this summer taking my nephew, but I do feel it is not the value it once was nor is the cruise ship. We will have to find new adventures in the future.

Dear Disney,
If you are reading this, please do away with this awful idea and bring Harambe Nights back instead. I'd pay $149 for Harambe Nights.

And are they going to totally close the park or escort everyone out? Like the halloween parties when people without a wristband are supposed to leave but they really don't? I saw so many people without wristbands at last year's mnsshp and never saw cast members checking. But this is double the price of the parties. Just insane. And yet it will sell out.

As far as closing the park early for this, they already do that how many nights a year for the parties? Can't see why they wouldn't add more to it :( Just like the parties, it's brilliant really, why sell one ticket for a day when you can sell two?

Does this new after hours event mean that the parks will be closing earlier than normal on the nights this event is held? If so, not good...
