New Mission Space is basically a lame version of Soarin'?

Is it just me? You're not even really in space, you're just seeing the world as a map that you're flying over. Then somehow when you crash land your spaceship turns into an airplane lol? I was totally bewildered with this "update" and I missed Lieutenant Dan. I only ride the weenie version though, maybe the new orange is somehow cooler?

Are you saying you land like an airplane? If so, then you'd also be landing like a space shuttle...

lol - My nephew who lives in Orlando told me that FOP (the new ride everyone on this forum is going gaga over) is just a lame version of Soarin too.

So many of the Universal rides (I prefer WDW and SeaWorld) are the same ride over and over with slight differences too. At least at WDW I do like Soarin.

For all the time, money & effort they put into that attraction it certainly isn't a satisfying payoff.

There's no more Lt. Dan? Well now I'm not risking my sanity to ride.

I also thought it was a bit lackluster, I liked being on Mars better. I only do the green so not sure what changed on the orange. We were the only two on the green side when we went 2 weeks ago!

The missions are pretty different. I haven't been on since the update, but videos of both are on YouTube.

I rode the new version last week. Found it very boring. I liked the previous Mars concept better.

Orange (now called Mars) didn't change at all. Other than getting a new film the mission is exactly as it always was.
Only Green (now called Earth) is new
And of course, both have the new intro

Haven't been on it for so long, first time we did the intense version and it made me sick, tried again and had the same experience. Tried the tamer version, but never got into the ride so much

We ride the Orange last week. Same exact ride, and almost the exact same verbiage as old, but with new narrator.

FWIW, we all said we missed Lt. Dan (aka, Gary Sinise).

If Lt. Dan (aka Gary Sinise) isn't taking me to Mars, I'm not going on this ever again. To be fair the orange side makes me sick so we only ever rode the green side. It wasn't that exciting.
