New Military Discount???

I would really like to be able to take advantage of as much of this offer as possible. We are booked at Pop from 11/11 - 11/16 but we have already paid off our trip - which included room (25% off with pin code), tickets, and dining.
If not, sounds like a good excuse to go ahead and plan another trip
You will likely only save about $5/night with the extra 5% off. You can add dining to a military room without having to buy tickets, but with this deal you'd only get 4 park days on your vacation. Depends on what that $150 savings means to you. If it was me, I'd keep your deal and go into a park every day. 4 days is not usually enough for me! But as it turns out, I'm taking a long weekend trip, so 4 days is perfect!

My sister is coming down for my birthday next month. Glad I can get her a ticket for more than one day! :) Not sure if we'll book a room yet, but those rates sound great!!! Anyone know if there's a minimum-night stay?

I'm so excited that there's a new military discount, but I wish we had more information.

Are there any black-out dates for the room discount? Can you purchase the discounted tickets over the phone or do you have to buy them in-person at the gate?

I am waiting on the black-out info, too. I forgot to ask the CM today.

You should be able to purchase the tickets at the gate, Shades of Green, or your local MWR/ITT office.

My MIL is a military widow. We (including my MIL) are going on our trip from Nov 25 to Dec 2nd, but we need tickets. Any idea if we can get the tickets for this $138 price at the base near us and then use them when we go in November?

You should be able to -- just have your MIL call the ITT (Tickets) office at the base nearest her, as she, the ID card holder (I'm assuming she is the card-carrying widow of a military retiree), will need to conduct any and all business transactions with ITT.

As military ITT offices have an "official" relationship with Disney Parks, they get the latest military information (as well as the tickets) direct from WDW.

If I missed this somewhere, I apologize. Is the 4 day ticket like the one last year that you could use the 4 days anytime until the promotion expired, or will you have say 7 days to use all 4 days?

I have a friend trying to plan just two days when her DH comes home from overseas, possibly over Christmas. But thought she could take her boys later in the year for the 2 days they didn't use at that time.

I'm guessing it will have the same general rules as last year, but may have a few black out dates.

I was so happy to see this. I just showed it to dh and he said to start planning :thumbsup2 I'm thinking I want to go towards the end of September. We were just there in mid August and it was miserable with the heat. I know September is still hot, but not as bad right?

So, this may be a silly question that I should know the answer... but, what if we were planning more than 4 days in the parks? Can you add more days to the discounted military tickets? TIA!

No you can't. You have to by discounted tickets at your local ITT office. We plan on buy more at shades when we get down there.

You cannot add days. However, I took 3 kids by myself in June, and 4 days in the parks, plus 3 days at waterparks, plus one day at DisneyQuest, plus a free day at Seaworld was more than enough to round out our 13 day stay.

You don't have to purchase the special Armed Forces Salute 4-day tickets at MWR/ITT. You can purchase the 4-day tickets at the gates or at Shades of Green.

The advantage of buying them at SOG/MWR is that you don't pay tax.

At least that is how it has worked in the past. We are still waiting on full details for this year's program.

We don't know for sure--but most likely this is correct! The past 2 years' Salute tickets have not been upgradeable.

This is great news! I've been waiting to see if something like this would happen. I'm hoping to see something official online, but I guess I can just call MWR.

Do the tickets have to be for dependents, or can I buy five tickets for my sister, my dad, etc.? Are reservists included, like they were on the last Military Salute special?

Now I just have to run the numbers on what it will take to get a two-day ticket plus these four-day tickets. In the end, though, I expect it will work out just fine, and will resolve the dilemma about whether or not I ought to get the park-hopper option.

I mean you can buy more tickets at shades. We are buy from are local ITT office. Then getting different tickets at shades

Does the 40% apply to the deluxe villas too? We're going in may with 7 of us, and want a 2 BR at BLT. We'll need 4 of the tickets, so that's awesome. LOL Any code for the resorts with the dining plan? I'm in love with the Deluxe dining :)

I called yesterday and switched my current ressie to the military discount and was able to add regular dining with no problem.

Actually, they could be upgraded to Annual/Premium Passes and FL resident Seasonal passes as well. They can not be upgraded to longer MYW tickets, though.

ok Im confused but what else is new...so the ticket discount is 4 days for $135 or $165..but Im going for 7 days so I pay $165 for 4 days through the military discount and then buy 3 day hopper for $307 from the SOG site?????? or I just pay $328 for a 7 day hopper through the SOG site...so where is the discount?? to me I pay more money with the new discount..am I not understanding something?

The Armed Forces Salute Ticket, which may be available at your local MWR office, at SOG, and at the Disney gates comes in 2 levels.

$138 gets you a 4-day Park Hopper or a 4-day base ticket with Water Park and more Option

$165 gets you a 4-day Park Hopper with Water Park & More option.

Last year, you could upgrade these tickets through Disney towards Annual Passes, Premium AP's, and FL Resident Annual/Seasonal Passes.

If you buy the tickets with the water park option, you technically have 8 days worth of tickets. 4 theme park days and 4 water park days.

If you don't want/need the water park option and need more than 4 days, you'll have to crunch numbers to see if the Armed Forces Salute tickets are worth it for you. They may not be in your case. You may be better off just purchasing a 7-day PH from SOG.
