New Military Discount???

When any ticket discount program is announced I will post about it to several planning forums, including this one, as well as update the Everything About WDW Tickets locked sticky in the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies Forum. At the current time there is no information about any upcoming Armed Forces ticket discounts, and nothing in the Automated Ticketing System where any can be sold.

At the current time anything about new Armed Forces Discount Tickets are rumors.

How did the old Military Salute tickets work? Are the tickets linked to your name or finger print? (I've never had "regular" tickets at Disney - only annual passes.) I'm wondering if I can use 2 days of a ticket in Feb 2011 & then let my sister use the remaining 2 days of the ticket on a later trip? The military sponsor (our dad) will be present during both trips.

Thanks!

That won't work--once activated, they work just like the regular tickets--tied to the finger scan, only they don't expire 14 days after first use.

The Military Salute tickets are just like regular tickets and APs, Non-transferable. So, no you wouldn't be able to use 2 days and then let your sister use the last 2 days.

HTH

Not only do they all require a finger scan (no differentiation between adult and child tickets) but any that are issued through the Automated Ticketing System will have the individual's name printed on gthe ticket.

Yay! I'm glad that the Military Salute tickets are available now. I have another question about them if you don't mind. I read that you can't add more days to the tickets, so what do you do if you need 5 or 6 day tickets for your family? A separate 1-day ticket from Shades of Green is $85 and a 2-day ticket is $168. Yikes!!

Thanks for your advice, as always. :)

According to our travel agent at MWR, they are trying to get add-on days for the ticket, but it doesn't look good. Since we are going for 6-7 days, we will probably end up getting the regular tickets through MWR as that will be cheaper than the discount tickets and separate tickets for the additional two or three days. Room and dining plan are set at least!

Disney Announces Military Salute Ticket Discount For 2011

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Disney today announced a military discounted ticket deal for the remainder of 2010 which continues through 1 October 2011. This offer is good at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. The tickets must be purchased by 28 September 2011. As reported earlier there will be 4 day military tickets for Disney World but Disney has decided to also offer a 3 day military ticket for Disneyland. A total of 6 tickets may be purchased by the military member.

For Walt Disney World the options are:
· Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets with Park Hopper Option for $138 each, plus tax
· Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets with Water Parks Fun and More Option for $138 each, plus tax AND
· Disney 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets with Park Hopper and Water Parks Fun and More Options for $165 each, plus tax

And for Disneyland
· Disney Military Promotional 3-Day Park Hopper Tickets for $99 each

This is really super news! I was talking with Amy from Ears of Experience yesterday and she told me that so many people have been putting their vacation plane on hold, waiting to see if there was going to be a ticket offer.

Disney is also offering fantastic resort discounts: 40% off Deluxe Resorts, 35% off Moderates and Fort Wilderness Cabins, and 30% off Value Resorts. I just booked three nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge through Amy for $601.

Tickets may be purchased at Shades of Green, Base Ticket Offices, and Disney ticket windows. You’ll pay tax at Disney ticket windows but not at your base or Shades

See this page for full conditions, blockout dates, and restrictions

THANK YOU!! After moving to WA, I thought I was going to have to forego our annual (or more often!) trip to Disney. I love the World more, but Disneyland is still a lot of fun, too. WOOHOO!!!!

1. There is still nothing on the Internal Disney Site about any ticket offer.

2. The link provided is not an official Disney Site.

3. The URL which is referred to in the article only shows information related to the program which ended September 30, 2010.

4. This is still a rumor!!

Dear Mr. Figment,

As you know, this is not a rumor anymore. Perhaps you should revise your post so people won't get confused.

Thank you.

I have seen the official information on the internal site.

Success!

I booked 2 rooms at CSR in May 2011 with the military + dining package. No ticket purchase required. The CM told me that the mlitary member could get up to 3 rooms at the discount, and I booked 2, one for our family and one for my cousin and her son. She linked the reservations and noted that the military member was on our reservation number. She was extremely helpful!

I'm having trouble getting the Miitary room discount and adding the dining package without buying tickets. The CM could not find the correct code. Do you know it???

I haven't seen a code for adding the dining package. :confused3 I'd suggest to call back and see if the CM you get this time knows how to add the dining package or ask to speak to a supervisor to see if they know how.

Try Q03. That's what's listed on my reservation confirmation. It says "Q03/Military Dine" so I'm guessing that's the code. It took my CM a few minutes to find it when I called, too, but she kept looking and found it.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you get it! :cheer2:
