New Members calling Member Services

I recently put in an offer to purchase Wilderness Lodge points, I'm just waiting on the RoFR process. Understanding that even if I pass, it will still take 6 weeks to close, if I don't pass I start the process again, therefore, I rented points from a member for our January trip. I realize that renters are not allowed to call MS to inquire on their reservation or make any changes, however, if I do successfully close on the Wilderness Lodge contract and become a member, would I then be able to call member services to inquire on this reservation?
I fully intent on keeping my rental agreement regardless if I close or do not close on my Wildenerness Lodge contract. I feel comfortable with the renter and do not have any concerns, I'm just curious to see if members are allowed to call on rented reservations.
 
I don't know if they would give you info on it because it's under somebody else's membership - I would think it would be a privacy issue.
 
I agree, since it is under someone elses membership, I doubt they will give you any details, even if you are a member.
 
A reservation made on someone elses points would have to be managed by that memeber, even if rented to another member.

IIRC, someone posted to say they tried this on a rented reservation and MS said no. Sorry I don't remember which thread or which member posted that.

Anyway, it seems that Minniemomof 3 will have to work through the owner she rented from for any requests or changes to her January vacation.

I currently have a reservation for a November trip with rented points. Another member made the reservation for me in March. I just became a member :cool1: and closed on my resale contract August 22nd. I was told that it would take 7-10 business days to be in the Disney system and to call Sept. 5th. Just for the heck of it, (actually I couldn't wait any longer :rolleyes1 ) I called member services August 31st and I was in the system. I mainly wanted to get my member number but asked the cast member if she could check my November reservation. She said "no problem" since I was now a member. She reconfirmed the dates for me and I was able to make some room "requests" as well as add the dining plan if I wanted. Those were the only things I could do with the reservation. She never compromised the owners privacy and of course I couldn't make any changes to the reservation itself.(adding a day or dropping a day etc). Hope this helps.

Thanks. It's nice to know they are allowing members to inquire about their reservations without compromising the owners privacy.
