I bought into SSR in April and have our first trip home in 2 weeks. Both my Wife and I are former Cast Members (My wife worked for DVC as a greeter, then at MS). We left the Orlando Area 10 years ago. Our favorite time of year was between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We always had family visit during that time because the parks were not crowded. My question is, has anything changed in the past 10 years as far as crowd levels at the parks during this time? There were only 2 DVC resorts at WDW when we left, and with all of the new additions, and reservations being hard to get at that time, I was wondering if that affects the crowd levels.

tWe have found the parks much more crowded in general now. WDW and DVC has done a good job of offering events and functions to lure in guests during the "slow" times. Those "slow" times have turned into extremely busy times. Look at the F&W Fest. as an example.

Also, with the lower point requirements, December has become a very popular month for DVC'ers. Thanksgiving has always been busy and then you know about Christmas. :)

My advice would be to go the first week of December for the lightest crowds. It won't be slow but it will be bearable. Remeber to book 11 months out for that timeframe.

Good luck. :goodvibes

We were wait listed, but all of the nights came through.

We will be there from December 9 to 16. Just wondering how much more crowded it will be from what I remember.
