This is a big THANK YOU to all the posters and the moderators on this board. My DW and I closed last week on a resale at BWV (220 points) and I made our first ressie today for a stay in early January, 2002. I'll be making another ressie for sometime in the summer as soon as my DW figures out when she can get away. We'll try OKW if BWV is not available then (since we're now well into the 7 month window for this stay).
I've been lurking around this board for some time now (even before I got around to actually registering) and learned a lot of useful stuff in preparation for our resale purchase. The most important thing we took to heart was "...buy where you plan to stay...", and so we did! I might mention that we did take advantage of one of the special deals at VB early in January (4 nights for the price of 3 in a studio @ $99/night) and attended the mandatory information session. This proved to be really unusual (I won't mention the name of our guide at the risk of getting him in trouble over this). When the guide found out we were already pretty familiar with the DVC and were really interested in BWV, he told us to look into the resale market because BWV and OKW were sold out but routinely available this way (we had pretty much decided this already from watching posts to this board). He gave us the hardcover sales book and other DVC information (it's too big to be called a brochure) and we were on our way back to our room in less than 30 minutes total. Talk about a low key, no pressure sales presentation. He definitely did not try to interest us in buying at VB even though he knew we were only interested in a WDW property, preferably BWV, so this must represent a counterexample to some of the experiences others have had in this regard.
So, thanks again for all the help.
Ralph
