So today I became a member for the second time, having sold BCV as a result of divorce. New home is AKV and first trip is in Jan 2011. In June of 2011 a family reunion trip is planned. Reguarding the AP discount i have a couple of questions that someone may have experience with.

1. If one is single, but their SO lives at the same address, would they qualify for the AP discount?
2. One's children who are residing elsewhere (IE with their mom), are they eligible?

TIA

Since childrent don't need a government issued ID, I'd say if they are your children they are likely okay for that if you are there to buy the APs for them with your member card. As for the SO...I have no idea about that, but I seem to remember once someone being able to get an AP for their nanny who lived with them and had an ID with their same address.

From the member website:

Who is eligible to receive the Annual Pass discount?

Disney Vacation Club Members receive a discount on the Pass for themselves and their immediate family residing in the same household only. At the time of purchase or redemption, your Disney Vacation Club Member ID Card must be provided and ALL ADULTS must present a valid driver's license or state identification card showing they reside in the same household.

Who is defined as "immediate family"?
"Immediate family" is defined by Walt Disney World Resort for discount purposes as noted below: Spouse/Registered Domestic Partner, Parent/Step Parent, Mother-In-Law/Father-In-Law, Child/Step Child, Brother/Stepbrother, Sister/Stepsister, Brother-In-Law/Sister-In-Law, Grandparent, and Grandchild.

Can I use my discount to buy a Pass for someone other than myself or immediate family residing in the same household?
No. This discount is exclusive for Members and may not be transferred. This perk may be revoked in the event of abuse.

I know the technical details of the rules, just wondered if anyone had experience with a SO that was not a spouse. Trying to avoid being married before the trip as the trip affords some nice opportunities related to getting married. :)

Back when my ex-DH and I bought passes we had different last names but the same address on our driver's liscense and we had no problem getting the DVC AP's for both of us. I don't even remeber them asking how we were related just for our driver's liscense's. And I was and am the only one on the DVC contract.
