Hi! we just booked our very 1st DVC trip as new members for this November. Looking at just 4 day tickets. Do DVC members get discounted tickets, apart from buying Annual Passes? Hard to say if we will need APs yet or not (for example, what if we use all our points next year to visit Hilton Head instead of the parks). At what point do you know if you should buy APs? that's why i was wondering if for this first trip could i just get discounted tickets for this trip alone? Thanks! :)

There was a discounts on regular park tickets where you got 1 free day out of it but that deal has expired

At the DVC price, generally, you should buy an AP if you'll make two trips in the same 366 days period.

There have been some specials on other types of tickets, but those come and go. In recent history, those have only happened twice in the past three years.

Disney offers a Premier Passport that's valid at both DL & WDW, but it's very expensive ($1,439 plus tax). All other Annual Passes are only good at WDW or DL respectively.
Good to know thanks!! Sounds like I'd be safer NOT getting APs at this point in time then, as we don't know yet if we will do DW or DL next summer..

I know there have been many comments recently about the perks being taken away going forward if your initial DVC purchase is resale.

The number one perk discussed was the ability to save on purchasing AP. Currently the AAA Gold Pass is $545.99 and DVC is $549

We did purchase resale but thankfully it was prior to the cutoff of the incidental benefits. I didn't know AAA sold them too though. We are AAA members..

I thought gold passes are only avail to DVC members and Florida residents. Can non Florida residents buy gold passes at a Florida AAA office?

Non-Florida residents cannot purchase the gold pass. I posted that because I thought it was ironic that AAA is selling a Disney Gold AP cheaper than Disney is either to its own Florida resident or to the "perk" given to a DVC member.

Gotcha-I thought it was a suggestion for the OP.
