I bought resale and my card had 2009. Assumed it was when the seller bought the contract initially. Never came into play. The "new" replacement card, which I just received, doesn't have a date.
Historically, the "member since" date on the card for a resale remained the date that the original purchaser of the contract from Disney purchased. That practice is ending with the new cards being issued now.
Your card expires this May? All the new ones have an expiration of 2021 and the old ones didn't have any expiration at all on them. You also should have received the new one by now but there seemed to be plenty of problems getting them out so if you haven't you might need to call MS and request one. They were rather "hidden" in the mailer on the 25th Anniversary.

Sorry, my mistake. The online "card" expires May 6, 2016. My real card expires December 31, 2021. We aren't going again until January, so I never even noticed the expiration date until I saw this thread and went to find my card.
