New Member Book

Yes, I thought the calendar was good too, but I wish they had included a listing of special happenings at WDW. For example MNSSHP, Candlelight Processional, Soap Opera, Food and Wine. Little League, cheerleading camps, etc. I can't seem to keep those dates in my head.

Got mine today. Liked it a lot. But I have to wonder what new purchasers are getting. The Member Guidebook is handy for a newbie...maybe not last years but the other versions I have were pretty good.

Ohanamom, if you go to the member website you can print out the chart from there. It is the same one that is in the guidebook.

doubletrouble_vb, I too wonder what new SSr members are receiving. Anyone? Did they get the old guidebook and the new companion book or just the companion book? Or even a new book we ahven't seen?

FYi, no new companion book here in atlanta. Darn snail mail!!!

We're new SSR owners, and we did receive the large guidebook. I'm in Atlanta, and we haven't received any sort of supplement (yet). I wasn't sure if we would get one right away, or if they would send if after we've officially "closed". We'll be watching for it!

Finally got mine. Weird it took so long cause it comes form Duluth, GA. and I'm in Marietta, GA.
Anyway, I'll be comparing points later.
Kind of disappointed in it.
It was like I was expecting a gold plated cover or something!
Geez... It is just points.
I need soem therapy for thsi Disney addition.
Plus, it came to me all ripped up. Half the evenlope was off. You wodul ahve thougt it traveled to me from China.

I got mine on Saturday. I actually like it. Direct and to the point or should I say points! Annmarie

We got ours in Louisiana on Saturday. I like it. Simple to use to look up points, etc. When I want a longer study, I'll pull out the larger guide book.

We joined in mid October at SSR. We received the big book from last year with our membership package, but no supplement so far. Any new owners receive one? Just wondering if we have to wait until settlement in the spring.

Got mine on Saturday, 11/01... we live west of WDW ... Tampa area.

I'm very happy with the book. I always finding myself flipping back and forth in the old guide trying to find the points list - this new book has got everything I need! Well, with one exception. I wish it had the phone numbers for the resorts - I like to have those handy for when we travel, as well as for when we send over guests....

I think they give you a list of member discounts when you check in.
They do but if there are changes within a couple of months of the visit, they will not be listed. Last time we were there, we found at least 4 dining discounts not listed on the Portable Perks. Three were very new so this wasn't surprising, one had been in effect a couple of months. I called MS on our way to that restaurant to ask and the person I talked to didn't have a clue either. We did get the 10% off and when I got home and checked the website, there was the info right there.

Got ours

We also purchased in mid-October and awaiting closing. No new book here in Texas either.

okay I'm embarassed to ask, what is the Mickey Monitor?
Annie,
The Mickey Monitor is a quarterly newsletter (similar to our DVC Vacation Magic magazines) for Annual Passholders. It lists all AP discounts and happenings around the parks in 3 month increments.
Still haven't received the Member Guidebook here in PA (just outside Philly). It wasn't in Saturday's mail.....hopefully today.

Ohhhh!!!! No wonder I haven't heard of it- we buy 7 day passes and split them between 2 years, but in 2005 we'll be down there in January and September, so we'll be getting the annual pass. I guess we'll see the Mickey Monitor then!

thanks MiaSRN62!:wave2:
