Has anyone received the new member guide addendum that DVC said would be in our hands this "fall"? Just curious

Brian

I remember someone on the boards mentioning they got this last week, but we have not seen anything here yet.

Haven't seen it here either.

We got ours yesterday! Sadly I won't be planning next year. :(

Are there any pics or anything? Eye candy?!?

I'm so bummed I ahven't gotten one yet. I thought this stuff was mailed out from near where I live....

I'm so pathetic looking in my mailbox each day hoping I'll have soemthing Disney to look at.

Now with that rumor about a DVC catalog I've got soemthing else to wait for.

Pathetic.

Recieved ours today in Alabama!

It is called the Vacation Planner (the older ones were called the Member Guidebook). It has 48 pages compared to the guidebook's 176 pages. It has the points charts and some of the basic rules and exchange info. Not as information packed as the guidebook.....but it is nice, and has some photos. I would advise all to keep the old guidebook and use it and the website and the dis for the in-depth information needed for trip planning.

One more ways to keep dues from increasing..:D

Thanks for the detailed info on the book.Your the 1st poster that described it.

Got mine on Monday. I really like it. The pictures at least are a little better than the Member Guidebook.

It does not have all the detailed information on all of the resorts, (room layout and inventory, amenities, etc..) but it gives more of a nuts and bolts of DVC. Here's a summary of the Table of Contents

Section 1-
DVC resorts with points charts, a piece on housekeeping services, home resort priority booking window and guidelines on changes, cancellations and the holding account and waitlist.

Section 2- The Disney Collection
Disney Resorts and Cruiseline information on points, booking and cancellation guidelines

Section 3-World Passport collection
Introduction and II points chart
Booking and cancellation guidelines

Concierge Collection
points charts and b&c guidelines

Adventurer Collection
points charts and b&c guidelines.

Destination map
Us and Worldwide

Important Membership Info
making Reservations
60 day rule and travel ins.
Banking
Borrowing and adding on vacation points
Member website
Contacts
Notes

It also comes with a chart in a pocket in the back for keeping track of your points.

Thanks Annie.

Does it have a breakdown of discounts? I know those are always changing, but did they list them as they were at publication time?

I know this information is available on the web site, but I wanted a handy way to actually take it with us on our trip. I suppose I could print out that section of the web site, but that seemed tedious. Did I miss it when I got my initial packet this summer? I guess I doubt it, again because of the changing nature of the discounts...

No, no discounts listed, but the page that details the website tells you to log on for special offers for DVC members.

I received mine yesterday. It was great to get. I did notice, though, that they really took the liberty of spelling out the pluses, as well as the limitations of DVC. For example, I was really surprised about the "room change fee" paragraph. I am guessing that is new.

Overall, it's a nice condensed version of the larger guide.

ok add that to my watching for the mail list ...Im still sitting on my front porch eagerly awaiting my SSR litho, now ill mug the mailman for two packages. (insert little yelly ball guy looking at his watch)

Received ours today. Was overwhelmed with Disney literature (as Mickey Monitor came today as well). Makes me wish I were there now..... :(

Was happy to see though that they included a Vacation Points Tracking Chart (on a seperate sheet). Didn't like the fact the chart was in the book last year so I created my own. Now I one I can make copies from...
