When I logon to the DVC member site it has a note in there that says I can't bank points. Does Disney not allow you to bank your points until your contract actually closes? If so, if you roll past a banking window do they provide a way to still bank points that otherwise wouldn't be eligible, but because you had to wait to close?

I have seen people mention on add-ons that Disney would let you override the banking rules, but is that something that should be written into the contract?

Whom is the best place to go for assistance in this area? MS or Guide?

If you bought from DVD, Guide. Resale, contact MS.

If you bought AKV with a Sept or later UY, then you actually don't have any points yet. After the start of your UY, then the points would be available for you to bank.

If the UY is before Sept, then I would call your guide to see what is up.

It's been a long time but when I bought you could not bank until you closed.

If you call MS, they will make your arrangements & you can bank with them. It is the easiest way!

That message will be there until your deed is recorded. Your home resort will not appear until after the closing date. If you already have points you can bank them by calling member services. I did that.

When I purchased, right after I made my deposit I was sent login info and was able to log into the account, bank points, and make reservations. this was all long before we actually completed the purchase and closed.

Thanks everyone for your advice. I decided to call MS as that is what the Alert said to do when I checked again. Well, with all of my problems to date with my contract and a guide problem, etc. my account is now messed up. So, basically I stumped MS and they are going to have to call me back.

First they said I couldn't bank because if was after July 31, I have a FEB UY, but then I asked well I should be able to at least bank 50%, back on hold, came back and said, well it requires an MS override. I then asked that since I am a new member and started my process on July 7 I missed the July 31 date with all of the contract problems and they said they would take care of that, I just have to call MS and give them what I want to bank. They just didn't understand why it wouldn't let me at least bank 50%.

Again, thanks to everyone!!

If your deal closed In July, you should be able to bank everything. MS will overide the deadlines & make it right. Give them a chance & things should work out OK.

When I bought earlier this summer , I was able to bank and then reallocate the points 3 days after I gave them my credit card info . It was 3-4 weeks before I closed.

I am sure MS will come through for you. Let us know what happens.
