My window for making my Fast Pass selections starts Saturday. Should I wait until Sunday to see what the new interface and plan looks like, or make my Fast Pass selections Saturday like I had planned? Thanks!

Don't wait.

You can always make changes later.

(And... what if... the "new interface" is lousy and/or crashes?)

If you wait you give a 1 day headstart to everyone else.... I would not wait.

I agree. Select your 3 FPs for each park day and then reduce them down depending on the changes to the MDE. Also wait for reports from those who are in the parks on Sunday before you make changes to your pre-booked FPs.

I guess I missed that changes were coming. Are we talking about new rules for FPs? Or just the fact that you will be able to book 4th+ on your phone now? I just taught my parents how to use MDE for our June trip.... Am I going to have to start over??

Here's a thread with some of the updates. Your parents will only need to check FPs - you can always take a screenshot and text it to them:
Significant Updates Coming to FastPass+ April 10th

Our window opens Saturday as well and I was just going to ask this question!

I'm also wondering if it would be advantageous to book just 2 fast passes or still go with the 3? We are park hopping (rope drop in am, break, then using fast passes in the evening at a different park ) if that helps you answer my q, I'm a little confused what the best strategy would be. Or do I change that strategy even?

Thanks!

Will you be in a Tiered park for your 2nd park?

You do have to choose 3 FPs if you book prior to Sunday. You can Cancel 1 by choosing Cancel Some of My Selections (Button) from the MDE website.

Yes, I should have been more clear about that... tiering doesn't matter to us since we are visiting all parks more than once.
With that said... what is the new strategy for booking fast passes? Still in the afternoon if you hit rope drop in the am? With the new system, can you book your first one at one park, and the other 2 at another park? I thought I understood it that you need to actually "use" the first one before you can book the 2nd and 3rd at another park?

Most people appear to book FPs beginning late morning if they are at rope drop.

With the new system, can you book your first one at one park, and the other 2 at another park?
Initially, 1, 2, or 3 FPs at one park.

After the pre-booked FPs are used, canceled, or expired, then the additional (1) FP can be booked for any park.

1. Still in the afternoon if you hit rope drop in the am?
2. With the new system, can you book your first one at one park, and the other 2 at another park?
3. I thought I understood it that you need to actually "use" the first one before you can book the 2nd and 3rd at another park?

1. There was never ONE strategy before, and there won't be one strategy now.
What you describe is one of the many ways of booking.
2. Nope.
3. Well, not necessarily USE the first 3, but at least wait for the Return Times, or just cancel one or more of them.
