Of those of you going to WDW in May this year, how many of you are going because you... a) always go in May, b) are trying May because you heard it was uncrowded, or c) are going for the Disneyland 50th Birthday Celebration?

D) Star Wars Weekends and my birthday celebration! The Flower and Garden Fesitval is nice too.

Plus, it is a great kickoff to the summer and a great motivation for the accountant in the group to keep her going through tax season

d.) DS's school gets out rather early this year and we thought we'd try it in May - hopefully before all the other schools get out.

We always go in May. It started out in 2000 to celebrate Mother's Day. We've gone the first or second week ever since, depending on when our AP's expire (last year our AP's expired on May 10th so we went the first week).

I am having a 50th birthday party for a friend.. we are staying at the Yacht Club and have 4 other rooms booked, 1 at the Yacht Club and 3 at the Beach Club.. I like going in October the best but because the birthday is in May...

We are going mainly for our wedding anniversary but my DH, a Star Wars nut, will have us spending it watching Star Wars 3 at the AMC, then off to Star Wars Weekends for him and the Flower and Garden Festival for me.

We will be there the week of May 5th!

We made our final plans for this trip just a week or so BEFORE the big celebration was announced! I was looking at late April... thinking that might be a good time crowd-wise. But there was no availability then at the TimeShare that week. Which turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because then the official school calendar came out showing the dates I had been looking at had been changed, and the big mandatory testing was planned for that last full week in April. So, the best layed plans of Mice (MOUSE) and Men!

So then, come to find out after all of these considerations and gyrations, it ends up that we will be there for May 5th!!

Don't know if this timing was Divine intervention, or a curse!!! LOL!!!

We are excited!

I voted other.... my DH took that as a vacation week before we decided to do Disney. My birthday falls on Mother's Day and he just thought it would be nice to have that time off, now it will be extra special.

I didn't learn about the 50th celebration until I started checking out the boards here. Hope its not too crazy that weekend!

Is there a Star Ears weekend planned? When is it?

We're going in May because I read that the crowds are lighter.weather is not as hot and/or humid. The 50th celebration is just a bonus not a curse I'm hoping.

The Star Wars weekends start the 20th of May and go every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until mid-June. There are lots of threads out there for this if you want more information on the events surrounding this.

We went in May of 2003 and the crowds were almost none exsistant. Wwe had such a great time we deceided to go again this May. We will be there on May 6th.
