NEW March 3-10, 2012 - Western Caribbean with the Magic!

.I'm intrigued by "ENGTEACH", you said your daughter doesn't speak much English, does she speak French? The reason i'm asking is because we're French Canadians, and my daughter too doesn't speak much English.

Yes Luckycruising, my daughter speaks French. She understands English but doesn't speak it much... we hope she will get to practice it somehow on the ship, maybe at the kids club. First time joining a roll call too... but it's also our first cruise. We don't know yet when we will tell our DD about the cruise, last year we told her too early that we were going to WDW and it was just too long for her to wait.

I do lots of graphic design work (I'm a professional photographer by trade) so just let me know if you guys want anything :)

I did this for a magnet for myself, based off an old trading pin. But feel free to use it!

I love this one!

I also signed up for the FE thing. I think this is just a wonderful idea and i know my daughter will absolutely love it (every holiday is a reason for her to prepare goodie bags for her friends and family- so i know for sure she will love deliver goodies to people on the ship!!)

I also like the idea of the door decorations (i think this is the first cruise where i have so much preparation to do... i`m not complaining, i love that stuff!!

We are already 3 families from Canada on this roll call, i imagine there will be a lot of Canadians on this cruise since it`s the March break for a lot of us. I also can`t believe that there is another family from NB on this roll call!! Hello M & M mom!!

Engteach-on our last cruise (last March), i pretty much stayed with my daughter everytime she was in the kids club. She wasn`t comfortable staying there by herself, specially since nobody could understand her. Since we`ve been back, i got her an English tutor and she still sees her twice a week. I can see a big improvement and hopefully, she`ll be more comfortable this time around in the kids club.

How do you guys feel about the pirate night/costumes, will anyone be costumed for the event?

Welcome to the new cruisers!!!! So exciting to be getting more people onboard!:yay:

As for pirate night, people really went all out on my last cruise I was shocked at how elaborate the costumes were, it was fun. We just had pirate themed tee shirts and felt underdressed:rotfl: No seriously it was great to see what everyone did. they did hand out bandanas at dinner for everyone to wear as well.

I would love to dress up for pirate night, but my DH would not dress up if you paid him. For holloween every year I dress up and go out with my sister and her kids while my DH stays at home. I might have to work on him for pirate night though. It would be so much fun!!

My kids will for sure be dressed up for Pirate night, me - probably not so much. :) Maybe some kind of nod to pirates, but certainly not crazy elaborate.

Yep, i have the same type of husband as well. I started looking online for costumes and there are so many nice pirate costumes, it would be fun if we would all dress up!!! I think if i manage to do something, it will be to get him a pirate t-shirt, and me and my daughter could have costumes.

just checking out the roll call.... I can't believe we have two Philippe's on the cruise.... How strange, love that we have to many canadian family's:goodvibes

Pirate tee's are probably the route we will go as well, maybe an eye patch too :)

Been thinking of things to do in Cozumel. Thinking about just walking around and shopping, enjoying the atmosphere, then heading to a beach, possibly Paradise Beach since the "water toys" look fun and my DH would probably enjoy those. I know a few in our DISgroup are going to Nachi Cocum and that looks amazing to me, but my DH would probably get too bored there. Anyone in our group ever been to Paradise beach and have any thoughts? What is eveyone else thinking of doing in Cozumel? I just cant seem to decide.

Lots going on here since I last checked in! Hi to you also luckycruising! Two of my neighbors and their families are coming with us on this cruise also but they haven't been on here to sign up yet. There will be a few families from NB on our cruise.

Got passports today! Yay!!!!!
Also, borrowed a friends nice sewing machine so I can go back to trying to make FE.

Have fun!! I'll have to buy some fabric as well and try to do a nice FE as well.

ps: M & M mom, if i may ask, which part of NB are you guys from (i'm from Northwest NB)? Which airport will you be flying from?

We are located about 20 minutes outside Miramichi, central NB. Are you in the Edmundston area? We will be flying from Bangor, Maine. Where are you flying from?

Has anyone ever transferred their reservation to dreams unlimited after booking with DCL? I am thinking about doing it for the OBC. Any advice?

I have! You just fill out the form online and fax it to them, they will then let you know within a few days what amount they can offer you for shipboard credit. It used to be new and transfered bookings recieved the full amount, nowadays they changed the commision rules so sometimes transfers get the same sometimes not. But, they will let you know the amount and then you can chose to transfer or not. I used them to book this reservation on board last year, so I have their full obc this time and it rocks! I have always had good experience. You can log into your account with them and see your balance owed and room number etc. Then when you make your cruise payment they have a secure form where you can pay in full or in chunks. They take cc, disney gift cards or disney visa rewards as well. That is the only thing that you give up, not making payments or changing room numbers directly with dcl. You are still responsible for booking excursion, palo etc and have full availability to change them yourself on dcl site.

I say do it, it's free money! I am getting 100 from dreams this cruise and 200 for booking on board last time from dcl for a 7 night cruise silver level (silver is sailed 1-5 times)! That's enough for our tips/drinks/and palo. Rebooking really had it's perks, and we werent even sure which cruise we were going to apply it to, we picked a "dummy date" and then moved it later. Hope this helps, feel free to ask any questions.....:goodvibes

And dont forget those with a disney visa, if you make all your payment with dv tell disney or travel agent and you get a $50 obc that is stackable with other credits.

Yay, finished my very first FE. If I can figure out how to post pics on here I will post one. I'm so exited to try another one.

upload pics to photobucket and then you will see 4 codes next to each picture depending on what type of forum you use a different code... use the bottom code and paste in your post!

Um, it turned out really big, and blurry, but this is a pic of the first thing I ever sewed, my first FE. This was just a test. I want to make it longer, to maybe put a pic or design on the top, then I need to put something on the pockets.

Does anyone know how to make these pics smaller?
