New MagicBand Colors?

There have been numerous announcements this week about MagicBands being available in a couple of new colours, specifically millennium pink and black.

What I can't seem to find out is if these colours will be available for resort guests to choose or if they're only available to purchase? Does anyone know the answer to this?

I just checked on MDE again as we have 5 days left to change the colours of our MB but so far they're not available. Hoping they will be in the future!

I was under the impression from the announcements that these new colors were going to be available for purchase only, not ‘free’ like the other solid colors with a resort reservation.

There's apparently an all black one available for purchase in Disney Springs. I can't see buying one, but I'm tempted. I love the all-black look.

The Solid Black has been out for a while retail only (Black, White and Teal were introduced as base colors for retail designs around that time)
Millennial Pink & Brown come out in January (Solid Pink is available as retail IDK if Brown will be as well or if it's just a base color for designs)

I'd love to get some of these colors as a freebie with my AP but as of now no plans to expand the AP/Resort pallet have been announced

I highly doubt they will be "free" and will be available for purchase only.

I have already spotted the black magic band on the shop Disney site. The reports I have read stated that the light pink band will become available on January 8th.

Everything I have read suggests both of these colors will be for purchase. No where have I seen that these two colors will be an option that comes complimentary with your Disney vacation package.

The black magic band is in the parks. I was looking at it over by Space Mountain as I was seeing if they had the limited edition Star Wars or Coco MB's

Same. I especially love the limited edition bands that alter the colors and sounds at touchpoints. I usually bring about 20 with me each trip, and buy a few more while there, and loop them together attached to my backpack. It's amazing how many times people have stopped me to ask how many children I have!

I won't pay for a Magic Band. I waited and the purple got added to the line up for a choice with resort reservations.
I will wait and see what happens. I would like a black one
