New Magic Kingdom TS restaurant

I was wondering when the new Magic Kingdom TS restaurant was supposed to be ready? I had read somewhere that it would be opening in time for this summer. I thought that this would be a great surprise for the family.

There's no official opening date and not even anything specific to the restaurant at all but most of Disney's releases about that area of the Fantasyland expansion say "late 2012." I definitely wouldn't count on it for spring, and probably not for summer, although there are loads of rumors out that they want to open it early to attract summer crowds.

Is it a CS or TS? If it is a TS, anyone know what kind of restaurant it's suppose to be?

The only info out from Disney is that it is expected to be a CS at lunch and a TS at dinner, and will likely feature some form of entertainment at dinner, although not traditional costumed characters.

I think I'm a little out-of-the-loop as far as the FL expansion goes. Will this new restaurant be part of the new Princess area?

There really won't be a new Princess area, as that idea was scrapped, as well as Pixie Hollow. The Princess meet and greets will be located where the Snow White ride is now. But there will be dedicated areas themed around Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid (it's assumed Belle and Ariel will appear in those areas).

The Be Our Guest and Gaston's Tavern restaurants will be part of the Beauty and the Beast area.

The first area of the expansion to open is supposed to be Storybook Circus, which used to be Mickey's Toontown Fair. The last should be the Seven Dwarves mine coaster. the Beauty and Mermaid themes will open sometime between those two.

Agree completely. My son is going to start getting tired of this as soon as he get a little older. POTC only goes so far.
