Some time ago the TheDisneyBlog.com posted this photo of the construction plans for the new bus row of bus stops at the Magic Kingdom closest to the lake;

http://thedisneyblog.com/2013/01/04/new-bus-depot-at-magic-kingdom-to-allow-for-larger-bus/

The highlighted area shows the newest curve of Magic Kingdom Park Bus Stops.

Above that is another curve that is the second row closest row of bus stops that used to be closest to the lake before the new bus stops were built.

And above that on the same curve was the closest first row of bus stops in relation to Magic Kingdom Park.

The very top curve was just a turnaround for all of the buses or holding area.

Maybe someone else has a better photo.

Thanks Uncle Ray. :thumbsup2

Hey, I got a question. Well a couple of them.

1. Can I call you Uncle Ray? :confused3 Or would you prefer Cosmic Ray? pirate:
2. I see POFQ and POR are now split. Does this mean that they would never share a bus like they did at times or do you see them shutting down the POFQ single bus line and utilizing the double bus for both resorts at less than busy times?
3. Was ther always a bus from MK to Hollywood Studios?

4. (edit) why is there no e on the end of there on my question #3?

3. No; guests used to have to transfer at the TTC. Dittofor Animal kingdom.

4. Autocorrect isn't doing its job ;)

Thanks Ray. Did the Poly, GF and CR have a bus stop before? It seems like the resorts have been split up a bit more. We try to avoid using the buses by planning our days around the resorts we are staying at.

Just Ray, thanks.

I don't know the answer to your second question, maybe someone else can help.

Is there a diagram somewhere of where all the stops are now located?

If you have been to the parks and seen the numbers on the board at the bus stops entrance, I assume that it will be similar. Here is a map from TheDisneyBlog.com below:

I can't remember, since I have never had to use busses when the monorail was down of when they shut down the monorail before Magic Kingdom used to close.

I vaguely remember the Poly, GF had special signs up on a few nights and I just assumed that the monorail was shut down that particular time.

I always take the sidewalk from the MK to CR.

Maybe someone else can give you a better answer.

So many of the above resorts have two stops listed, so which one do you go to? For example, do you go to 7 or 8 for Saratoga Springs? Why would you need two stops for each resort? :confused3

I don't know the real answer to your question, but I do have a theory. I usually go to WDW every December and at Magic Kingdom when the park closes.

Many times the lines were so long, that another bus would pull beside the first bus and both buses would fill up at the same time.

I wonder if during the busy times when the bus lines get too long, like a park closing, that the second bus will have a place to park instead of in the middle of the busy roadway.

Almost all of the double bus stops have big, busier resorts.

Just my opinion. I don't have a real answer for you. Maybe someone else can answer your question.

In looking at the new longer buses, I think those in the first queue will load in the first car and those in the second queue will load in the second car. Then if the long buses are not being deployed, 2 different normal length buses can drop off/pickup.

Update from *********.com

.

I'd imagine buses would still run TTC-AK and TTC-HS, right? I can see why adding an MK option eases the strain on the aging monorail system but there are still plenty of day guests whose hotel buses leave them at the TTC.

Case in point: my sister, staying offsite in February, will get dropped off at the TTC; she is assuming she can still use its buses to AK and HS.

Probably not. The wording in the internal announcement is that DHS & AK buses will "transition" to the MK on 12/15. That sounds to me like they will be moving, not being added to.

Am I reading this correctly that boardwalk and beach/yacht club no longer share a bus?? That's incredibly exciting and makes me think we have a chance for a seat on our upcoming boardwalk stay!

... So many of the above resorts have two stops listed, so which one do you go to? For example, do you go to 7 or 8 for Saratoga Springs? ...
Overhead signs at the stops were changed. For example, long long time ago, the All Star stops were signed "All Star Resorts", (blank), (blank) during off hours and "All Star Sports", "All Star Music", and "All Star Movies" during rush hours. Today they can do other split-ups, such as "Jambo" and "Kidani" during rush hours and "Animal Kingdom Lodge" and (blank) during off hours.
In looking at the new longer buses, I think those in the first queue will load in the first car and those in the second queue will load in the second car.
I expect that there would be just one queue per stop. Unless they change the policy to load through all doors of the buses to speed things up. (Inside the articulated bus there is a passageway between the two sections.)

Loading via the back door has its disadvantages but there is one benefit: other people can fill in all the available space back there even when people who boarded via the front door fail to please move back all through the town.

MK has had separate buses for BW-Swan-Dolphin and YC-BC for many years. The only times they are combined is early morning, late night, and sometimes on extra buses when there are big crowds.

AK also has mostly separate buses. Only DTD routinely combines all 5 resorts on a single bus.

So how's this worked out the last six months? When Disney added buses from MK to HS and AK I thought about the hassle a day visitor must endure hopping from, say, MK to AK and having to bus at the end of the day to the MK, THEN monorail or ferry to the TTC.
