New Magic bands

So we are looking to buy Annual passes this next year. Will magic bands be used or we will have tickets? Anyone know? I havent seen anything on this subject. Thanks In Advance.

Right now magicbands are still in testing and you have to be staying onsite at Disney to qualify for one (even as an ap holder). That will change at some point, but no one knows when.

Do you know, does everyone onsite get them if they want, or are people still being randomly selected to get them?

I think it is open to all...I'm pretty sure you have to opt out of the testing now, not opt in.

Got annual passes in Sep and still had a plastic ticket but it could be connected to the magic band.
