New Luggage Tags for On Site Guests

Sorry to post on an old thread, but had a question about this. First time with Magic Bands. Our bands came today with the luggage tags underneath. I notice the luggage tags all have QR codes on them. However, if I'm understanding correctly for DME I should still expect a different tag? Our party is flying in from 2 different airports so I wanted to be sure I have everything before I ship the bands/tags to the other family.

Do the luggage tags have names printed on them like the bands do? For instance, my daughter wants an orange band, but a Minnie tag. My husband wants a red band and cares less what his tag is. Will the red tag have his info on it or will it be like all the tags in the past where you fill out your personal information? Thanks.

The tags are blank, and you can fill in your information.

I would not think that they were attached to DME, because we aren't using DME and ours have them. I'm sure they're a link to buy more, or something else equally marketing-purposed.

The DME luggage tags are yellow, and look like the ones the airlines put on your luggage. They'll arrive with your vacation package information book and any other material for your resort stay. Protip: Get more than you think you'll need, because if your luggage has to be gate-checked and you can plan for that free-gate-checked bag to go straight to the hotel with the spare DME tag, it's one less bag that you have to pay for at the airline counter!

UK guests don't get them which I'm really sad about...but next year I'm going to try by asking for them on check in..I want them for my scrap booking but am not holding my breath.

Where is the QR Code located? Is it just on the plastic wrap around the luggage tag or embedded on the tag itself? It is completely possible the QR code is how the machine that stuffs the magicband boxes knows which tag is which and sends them down the belt to the right stuffing location. I have bought a lot of products recently that have tiny QR codes on them that are for stocking and warehouse purposes.

Just got out magic bands. Got luggage tags for adults only. Nothing for the five year old. So disappointed. I will be giving her mine but it doesn't match her band:(

You're 5 year old didn't get one? That's ridiculous! I would call them. You paid for a ticket for her, didn't you? She should get a luggage tag. I'll be pretty grumpy if my 7 year old doesn't get one!

My 4 year old got hers, probably a mistake on the company that fulfills the order's part. We're switching ours with each other, my husband doesn't want Minnie.

Hopefully. We're Canadian so we don't get ours till we check in. I can just imagine the tears if there's no Daisy tag for my daughter!

These have absolutely nothing to do with DME. Do not try to use them that way. The larger yellow sticker type tags are the only DME tags that will work.

I think I may have to give up my pink band for a red one. DD will want her yellow band but Minnie is her favorite, so I'll want to get her the red tag. :)

Is everyone's tags matching their bands? Most of ours didn't so I'm wondering if it was by accident or if everyone gets random tags.

Mine matched. I understand they are supposed to match so possibly your group experienced an error?

according to Rteetz on another thread talking about magic bands, currently Disney is having a shortage of tags, so alot of people are all just receiving the Minnie Mickey tags until they have more in stock.

There has been talk that there is a shortage in the tags resulting in people getting the grey bands rather than the ones matching their band.
