New logo stuff

Do the resort have shirts and stuff with the new logo to sell?

we just got back on Saturday. BWV nor BCV had any merchandise with the new logo on it.

None at OKW either, thank goodness. But all the stuff they have isn't very good anyway.

Aren't we all tired of going into the resort shops hen we first arrive on our trip, lift in our step, and looking for any new DVC merchandise, but finding the same (or less) old disappointing stuff? And what is with this stuff that looks 10 years old? Some of us may want to buy new stuff that looks new.

It has never been the price of stuff, but the availability that has been the problem, IMHO. Bring out some new stuff (that looks new)!

I totally agree! They would sell a LOT of it if they had decent stuff again.

This will be the fourth trip in a row that I don't spend anything on stuff other than dining and groceries. The "snacks" are disappointing. The souveniers are the same or not anything I want to purchase. I liked it back when the Main Street Confectionary actually sold confections and not bakery items. It needs to be renamed the Main Street Bakery #2.

I completely agree! I have no interest in purchasing a t-shirt that looks like well-worn prison garb. I think it sends a message that the resorts are probably run down as well.

Come on DVC! How about something that looks new and appealing?

Yeah! Come on DVC, do you think we have money only for add-ons?

There are those of us that go into our resort “Mercantile” with thoughts of buying, not just cutting through the air conditioning or buying beer.

Most stuff is targeted on the first time or “only once” visitor. There needs to be a turnover of items available for the repeat visitor, the dedicated member who has forsaken all other vacation opportunities each year to spend time and money at Disney.

Come on; she wants to buy stuff . . .

I agree! I'm not convinced the new logo will give us much though. It has no color or intrigue for me.

I agree, I want to spend some money on new DVC things! I really miss the resort specific items, especially the polo shirts. I haven't spent much in the resort shops lately; I always leave dissapointed. Not thrilled with the new logo either. At all

I think the new logo will made a wonderful pendant....hope they do something like that. Matching earrings would be nice too.

Would also like to see resort specific DVC things.

I am also always on the lookout for new DVC stuff and always disappointed! Someone in merchandising is WAY off. We were at WDW over Easter and DDs could find almost NOTHING for Tangled!?!?! What? What would WDW be thinking? They could have made a fortune on that stuff too...but it was more of the same old, tired and boring princess stuff!

I put on my business hat (with no DVC logo) and try to think like a Disney bean counter, but I can't put my finger on why they wouldn 't create more DVC merch. It must be a quantity issue--there just aren't enough DVC members who buy merch to justify the design and manufacture of the items. I guess if they can't order 5 million of something to get the price down to 83 cents or less(to sell for $35) it isn't worth the effort.

Disney doesn't miss many chances to turn a buck,too bad they can't take a little better care of their premium customers.

When I was a CM, The Princess Diaries came out. We had NOTHING and I mean NOTHING in the store for guests to purchase. Do you know how many little girls wanted a diary like Mia's? How many wanted a fat Louie of her own? How many wanted a shirt that said princess of genovia? a snowglobe? .I could go on and on. Everyday when shipment came in we would open the boxes hoping for P.D. merchandise only to find more of the same stuff we already had

Hey I got more than that. I got a reuseable bag, a wooden keepsake box w/2 more lanyards, and a passport holder too! (and some W.Disney and wife lithograph).

I agree, DVC is missing a huge target area for selling stuff, whether in the store or online. I can't believe that Disney doesn't want to make money off of us by selling DVC merchandise.

We just came home today with no money spent on stuff. Only groceries and dining. And not that much dining this time.

Even a nice polo shirt with the DVC logo like they used to sell. We had them in light purple from way back when, but they got worn and washed to nothing. I still wear my BCV hat whenever I go even though we sold the BCV points. They sold that hat maybe the first year BCV opened and then never again. DVC members want to wear something that represents their home resort. And not prison garb. Something we can wear to work on Casual Fridays.
