Well I made it home. I wasn't even home an hour and a storm came up and knocked down the tree in my back yard and crushed the pool deck and the pool. What a way to come home. I will try to post pics of Andrew tonight.

Oh not good! We left New Jersey yesterday before the weather turned bad and DH got back to DC right before they had some bad storms. As he left the hotel this morning they were cleaning up several trees that had uprooted.

The damage in DC was pretty extensive. Glad y'all are ok!!
Will the homeowners insurance cover the pool and deck?

Home owners was out today and the tree people were here. now just have to wait to see when the tree can be removed and then call the pool company to give us an estimate and we have to itemize what was on the deck and the little tikes slide that is now flat as a pancake. My father in law is coming to visit from Michigan next week with his family and I was hoping they would be in the pool the whole time so I could be in the house with the baby and not worry about all these extra people in my little house, but now they will all be in my house.
I hope the pool can be fixed before the end of the summer. The kids are going through withdrawal. They were in everyday. Oh well at least we are all ok.

Baby Andrew is doing well. He is sleeping about 3 hours at a time at night. yeah. I am going to try to get DH to put pictures up today. He posted some on my facebook page so I will ask him to put them on here.

Seriously? Houseguests when you have a week-old baby, other kids, and dealing with the insurance crap, too.??? I think your DH may need to "friendly but firmly" point his family to a nearby hotel/motel. It is tough enough to house a single "helper" (sis or mom) when a new baby arrives, but an entire family? OMG!

I'm glad - but you're right...tossing them all outside in the pool for hours each day would have been great - sorry that you don't have that option right now! That must have been quite a storm...

New update/ My father in law said he is bringing a tent so he can camp in the back yard with the kids. I am wondering if that is where he is planning on staying the whole time?

If things aren't bad enough, I now have a rash on my belly and it is spreading to my legs. I just can't win this week. I am going to beg my DH to help me post pictures of my little man.

Honey, we'd all love to see photos, but you have enough on your plate right now! Take care of yourself and your family; talk to your doc NOW about your rash; let DH deal with the storm mess, and laying it on the line ASAP with his family - are they frickin' kidding...a tent in your backyard?????? - and savor and enjoy these precious early days with your baby.

None of us are going anywhere - give yourself this time and get back to us with lovely pix after your life quiets down a bit!
