New LE Olaf MagicBand... The Good and the Bad

I just purchased one of the Limited Edition Olaf MagicBands from Hollywood Studios and it's super cute!!

If you can get your hands on one of these for $29.95, not only do you have a very unique MagicBand, but it also adds a little extra Disney magic to your day.

Something special happens when you scan your Olaf MagicBand in Hollywood Studios. I am really disappointed though, to find out that this will only last until Frozen Summer is over. Personally, I think if someone is willing to sell out 30 bucks for a MagicBand they could let it do the cool stuff all the time. And why not at every park? I have a box full of every color MagicBand available that I got for free. I think a fun little something extra when you scan it would make the price well worth it. It really stinks that it will only happen for a very limited amount of time. Meaning that fans who are here on vacation and are not area residents will most likely only be able to see the special somethings for one trip.

I knew about DHS only, but I didn't realize it was going to stop once FSF is over. Bummer. In the meantime, it's pretty cool!

My son's didn't work at first. But it got "fixed" and he's enjoying the magic. Though it's not as loud as Yoda was. He's had to put his ear near the FP+ Mickey to hear it.

OP, I am a bit surprised to hear that they won't do "that something special" beyond September. Did a CM tell you that?

There were comments on the post the Disney Parks Blog released about the Magic Bands that said they wouldn't work past the dates for Frozen Summer.

I also read that the Star Wars LE Bands no longer work either since Star Wars Weekends is over.

Quick update... The Olaf Magic Band only does it's "special" stuff at FP+ scanners, not the park entrance. Irritating.

Are the Star Wars bands still available? Or only the Olaf Magic Bands? I'm heading down in two weeks and I will be interested in a custom magic band, just curious what my options are
