new krispy kreme opening in my neighborhood

there is only one Krispy Kreme for all of Long Island. it's a 30 to 40 minute drive from my house.


but in 10 days, they open a second one. 10 minutes from my house.

They are going to be opening a Krispy Kreme in my city (Medford, MA) very very soon. I'm psyched. I only get to have Krispy Kreme's when I travel to New York, Las Vegas, Washington DC (they sell them in Au Bon Pain), or Florida.

I'm convinced they chose to open it in my city because of the e-mails and letters I've sent them over the years. I tell them how I bring home dozens of donuts every time I go away, and freeze them so I can get my Krispy Kreme fix.

mmmmm....I just see the words Krispy Kreme and my,mouth waters at the thought of their warm just cooked glazed donuts or the chocolate covered creme filled ones.

We have had one ten or so minutes from us for some time. There is a local brand here in Houston that my family prefers (shipley) that is equally close. The nice thing about crispy creame is that they microwave well.

Like nativetxn, I am not a fan of the KK. For me they're just too greasy.
My favorite donuts are the glazed raised ones, so that's probably why.
We've noticed the KK are being used in about every fund-raiser possible in our northwestern Illinois area. Talk about overkill!!

the "old" KK is on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow. the "new" one is on Toute 110 in Melville.

I think KK's are fantastic but in the 1.5 years we've had one (about 6 minutes from the house), I have been there ONCE.
I have no will power for anything else I like to eat, just doughnuts.
