New Kona Menu

Some of the other items look yummy as well. We ate at ohana last year, it was actually a great (though SALTY) meal and saw Kona, said we'd give it a try, glad we got it for upcoming visit.
I love Ohana as well, but I think the quality of food is just a bit higher at Kona.

Another thing that I noticed about the new menu: even though the filet was replaced by a New York Strip, the price was adjusted down as well.

The filet was $28.99. The new choice of meat is still the most expensive thing on the menu, but now at $24.99.

This is a relief, as I was hoping that whatever placed the filet was not the same price. It would have been a shame if the new item would make you pay the same for something "less."
Thank you, I couldn't remember how much the filet cost.

Thank you so much Nicki! Edit: This is off topic, but I was wondering if you can also take a pic of Narcoossee's and Chefs de France menu? .... pwetty please?

I know for sure we will be in Epcot next Saturday so I will def go to Chefs for you and snap a pic. I will try and get DH to take a jaunt to GF so I can get the picture! Maybe Citrico's while I am at it

I'd like to see Narcoossee's menu too.

I will do my very best!

It's Super Nicki, I am trusting that you will do one of your wonderful reviews maybe you can start a new menu thread, using all of the restaurants that you will visit on your next trip, just a thought.:)

Ok I am going to have to change my name now :lmao: I told DH my new nickname and he said "You will always be Nicki Know It All" to me....:rotfl2: He dubbed me that many moons ago, gotta love that guy but when he's right he's right! ;)

Hi, I my name is Nicki and I go to WDW to take pics of menus and food only, no rides thank you! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :yay:

The new menu still looks fantastic! I'm going to have a hard time decididing what to get even without the filet available :rotfl:

Thanks for posting I was on the site earlier today and it was the old menu. I have one of those PICKY kids that is a TRUE carnivore, so I am hoping he'll just choose one of those other meats. Anyone ever try the prime rib? Is it VERY fatty? I know it is known to have the fat but sometimes it is just plain GROSS!

Any input appreciated!

Here's a pic of DNeph's prime rib entree from our trip last August:

It's a very large meal. We took DNeph, who weighs about 75 pounds, with us last year for free dining, and he didn't come close to eating even half of it. If you're into sharing meals, this would be a good candidate. It would feed 2 people easily.

I have to say that I was worried about the menu changes since we are scheduled to eat there next month but after the seeing the menu I am ok with it. I can deal with a strip steak instead of filet. I was more concerned that they were going to be elminating many of the beef entrees.

I feel better now.

I see they updated CRT menu. Anyone know what the changes are? Everything looks about the same to me ;/

I'll actually be there tonight....I'll check on the double posted steak. We've got ADR's for Kona, but are going to try and slip into 'Ohana....with a sushi bar appetizer! :thumbsup2

Hi if your a pic taker could you take a pic of the menu and post it,If not we understand:sad2: Thanks

This looks great! No disappointing changes and some yummy new additions. Can't wait to eat there next month!:)

Not a problem...I'm eating there tonight for the review anyway, so I will be taking pics!:thumbsup2

Going there twice this trip hope to try the shrimp and scallops and the strip. Can not wait. 10 days to go.

Looks good to me! I think I'll have the shrimp and scallops, again, this time. I'm not that disappointed about the removal of filets from alot of WDW restaurants as the last 2 years I got a little tired of too much beef. Since the only steak I eat is filet, it just means I'll be having more seafood. Which I love!

So basically, these are the changes:

Removed
Appetizer
Braised Pork Belly Salad - Pork belly braised in Dashi served on a bed of Bibb lettuce and pomegranate vinaigrette. - $8.99
Entree
Filet Mignon - Served with mashed Yukon Gold potatoes and asparagus. - $28.99
Dessert
Chocolate Macadamia Nut Tart. (I didn't care for it anyway)

ADDED

Appetizer
Shrimp Roll - Tempura shrimp, mango, and sushi rice served with passion fruit-orange-guava Sauce $12.99
Entree
Teriyaki-style New York Strip - sirloin strip grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and stir-fried broccolini $24.99
This may be a duplicate? Should be confirmed soon.
Dessert
Coconut Cream Kiki (Kiwi?)Tart - $5.49

The menu still looks good, but I will admit I am a little sad. I booked this restaurant for the filet...

I think the two steaks are probably a typo, and the only one that's really there is the NY strip, since that's the new item. I just doesn't make sense to me that Kona would have two similar cuts of beef, with the exact same sides.

The Beef Teriyaki was already there. I was thinking the NYS was a replacement for the removed filet & they've just accidentally duplicated the BT description on Allears. The NYS is probably different than what is listed. Otherwise, they didn't replace the filet. I guess we'll find out soon. :thumbsup2

Hmmmm...tuna looks tasty...think I'm gonna have to give Kona a try! We're usually lured away by Ohana, but lately I haven't been able to even get close to getting an ADR there.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of Kona. Please, go soon. :teeth: We seem to have similar taste & expectations in restaurants. ;) Although, we weren't impressed with Ohana at all. To be fair to Ohana, we're just not big fans of buffets or family style dining, especially buffets. We only go to either, if there's a reason beyond the food to warrant it.
