New kids menu-signature restaurants??

So far, the only restaurants we have multiple, credible confirmations of this new menu being applied are Tony's, 50s Prime Time Cafe, Mama Melrose, Brown Derby, and Sci-Fi. Of course, Brown Derby is a signature restaurant, so it does seem that it will be applied at least some signature restaurants.

Prime Time is reported to be offering kids size portions of some entrées, such as meat loaf, even though it's not on kids menu. Presumably that option won't be offered to adults looking for a smaller portion.

It can't hurt to just ask if a child can get a kids size portion of adult entrées. Some restaurants may be able to accommodate reasonable requests.

The changed menus will reduce the number of adults and older children looking to order off the kids menu. Allowing kids to order "off menu" options should make it a lot easier for Disney to enforce age rules.

Bicker--Thanks for confirming my suspicions that the new, healthier, kids menu is probably more expensive than the fried alternative.

I think the menu that's currently being tested may be too limited for guests who are using the meal plan for 7-10 nights. Shorter stays shouldn't have a problem and guests paying cash for meals have other options.

Some Dining Plan guests have been prohibited from paying OOP for children while using Dining Plan credits for adults (probably because it is a common tactic used by guests violating the Dining Plan's rule against using child meal entitlements for adult meals, though that's just speculation).

Wow, that stinks... I think eventually Disney will have to differentiate between adult and kid's credits to ensure that doesn't happen.

I don't know if I would use two credits then for meals that are generic... You really have to love the ambience!
