New K question -- how much do you pay for 1/2 day care for the other half of the day?

What do you pay for half-day care for the half of the day your kindergartner is at school? Does this include lunch? How about transportation to/from school?

Since my kids are well out of Kindergarten, I can't give you the price anymore; however, I remember at the time that 1/2 day of daycare (which included lunch and transportation to and from Kindergarten) was almost as much as full-day care. I think a few years ago, it was about $120 for full-day care but it was $90 for 1/2-day care (either before or after Kindergarten). I thought the cost was quite high so I was always looking for a full-day Kindergarten (private). If I'm gonna pay, I would rather pay the money to a full-day Kindergarten than to a daycare center.

I have to pay the full day rate for daycare. Their reasoning is that daycare is open 12 and a half hours... kindergarten accounts for 3 hours... that leaves more than 8 hours she *could* be at daycare.

I pay $167/week for before and after kindergarten. That includes breakfast and lunch.

My daycare provider charges full rate for Kindergarden children. It includes breakfast and lunch. My dd took the bus to school.

It cost me $75 a week

I charge full price for children that go to half day k. In my town, the kids switch off between morning and afternoon. They go one the first part of the year, and switch half way through. Because of that, I couldn't fill the slot when they aren't here because it will just change in a couple of months.

We have full day kindergarten (9:15-3:20). Before and after care (7 am - 6pm) is currently $450 per month. (You can buy only part of the time if you want.)

It is at the school, run by the YMCA. No transportation.
