New June - Team Hakuna Matata!

Hey Team mates!

Sorry to hear about the sleepless night, Scott. I just hate it when that happes! Good luck on the 10K! Where is it?

Love, love, love  those easy days. I like to think of myself just moving for pure joy just like the baby thouroughbreds in the pasture.

Rest day for me! Think I will do a short bike ride and stretch and get ready for our big fishing trip over the fourth!

Good Morning Team!

I got out early for the dog walk, it was hot to me at 6:30am! Dogs drank all the water I brought for them and were looking for more! It was a slow walk for me, again, going early I walk before coffee (although I did eat a couple of expresso beans to counteract that problem), and I also walk before I have digested whatever I have eaten. The heat may also have been a problem, it was 75 degrees when I got home, there was no wind to cool me off. It is supposed to be 85 degrees here again today (I know that does not seem hot to those who are getting 100+, but for us northern climate folks, 85 is hot!)

Connie - what is the Route 66 Fun Run? The 10K is here in Cheyenne, there is a 5K or 10K, also they do a bike ride - "Tour de Prairie" - that can be from 10 miles up to 100 miles. There is a fair type set up in one of the city parks. Lots of happenings for the kids, and for the adults, all day.

Erica - glad to hear you got a clean bill of health!

Scott's resturant card basically says to please allow him to order off the childs menu because of his stomach surgery.

Need to get back to the laundry - have a great day everyone!!!

Nothing of import to report... Just checking in and saying :wave2:

Scott - Good luck with your race this weekend! Are you going to take the 405with you?

Erica - Glad to hear everything went well at the doctor's.

Lynn - I wish everyone was allowed to order the kid's menu or at least smaller portions. I think sizes at restaurants have gotten way out of control!

Connie - Enjoy your rest day :)

Take care everyone else!

Lynn,

There are lots of "Route 66" runs and fun runs around here. There is one in September is just a small town race during a festival, its called the Route 66 hoot and scoot! I don't know what the festival is, but there is poker run, for motorcaycles the same day. I will be finding out, though! It's just a 5k.

The other Route 66 is the Route 66 Marathon, half marathon and quarter marathon, 5-person full marathon relay, and the Mayor's 5K. in Tulsa, OK. www.route66marathon.com There will be 30 live bands on the course, Post race concert and classic Car SHow. Sounds fun to me. But it is in November, chancy weather that time of year!

But it would keep me training! I might do the Light Run again and for another place medal in December.

Greetings Team!

Erica, great news on the medical tests report! :thumbsup2

Great Workout and Walk...Speedy :hippie:

Scott, glad to hear you like your new Garmin 405 ::yes:: My 305 maps and displays the routes...I really like that feature too! I messed up the settings on my 305 and cannot find the booklet! :rolleyes1

Bunny Foo, the 5k Cheetah Chase at the zoo is all different terrains, paved, boardwalks, gravel, dirt, hilly, over the hills and through the woods, all around the zoo. It is fun. It another one of those where they do not activate your chip at start but it does shut off when you cross the finish. Then picnic lunch and the rest of the day with DD & my precious little Hagen enjoying the zoo. ::yes::

Margie, Garmin.com is a place where you can find user manuals for your GPS. I always download them and keep them in a separate file, and have on occasions printed them out.

I will definitely use if for any future race.

Sat is a 5k or 10K, we are doing the 10K, it is called Super Saturday, lots of local community service groups, businesses etc, set up for the day. The next local race is during Frontier Days at the Air Force Base it is a 5K. then there is the Susan Kolmen(sp??) 5K, for the last one we put together a team of friends and co-workers.

Yes restaurant portions are way outta control, splitting works well. I want to say TGI Fridays has a smaller portioned menu.

I am outta here in about one hour then I think my phone might accidently get turned off. LOL

YEAH!!! I did get out early got a run in between thunderstorms.

Will post a pic of my 405 as I have decorated it LOL

Pretty KEWL!!! HUH.

No Dave no trial, with those I never sleep adn don't have the time to even be here. We were called in to help with http://www.wyomingnews.com/articles/2008/06/22/news/20local_06-22-08.txt as always I can not say much but has been busy.

Hi all!!

I have recovered from my tests yesterday by doing a 7 miler today!!

While I was in the middle of a really nice massage, Dave told me that our DD21 had been trying to get a hold of me. Seems like the jeep she is driving didn't want to start. So I had to leave before my massage was over to take her to work. I will have to leave in a little while to pick her up.

Have a good night everybody!

Erica:)

Thanks, Scott! Will check Garmin.com if that little booklet doesn't miraculously appear. ::yes::

Way To Go Erica! Sorry about the interrupted massage. Hope the Jeep doesn't have serious problems. :moped:

Oh Erica aren't massages the best. I went for one the other night as my lower back was bothering me from moving washing machines a couple of weeks ago.

What a blessing to have her work out all my horrible spots.

Did 4 miles this morning in the cool NH air. LOVELY.

Off to get ready for work.

Have a good one all - Scott I love your little attachments to your watch, will have to get me some of those too!

I had fully intended in catching up with my posts on here, but the strangest thing happened to us this morning.

Jordan went out to get his coffee mug out of his car (in the process opened the garage door). He came in said goodbye to me and the kids (dogs) and went back outside to leave. When he got to the edge of the garage he noticed that my driver side car door was wide open. It didn't appear that anything was missing, but a keychain thing I had in my change was on my seat (but there wasn't any noticeable change missing). SO as far as we know...all they did was open my car door and move that keychain. The strange thing is how fast it happened. I feel very strange now like I'm being watched. I had been walking around in my bra and I feel like somebody may have seen me through the windows. :scared1:

I quickly went around and shut and looked all of the windows in the house. I guess it's time to put the AC back on. :confused3

Anyhow..I'll try to get on at work today. Hope you all have a great day and keep up that training!!

Good day, TEAM!

V_R -- I am sorry to hear about your predicament this morning. In the big cities around here, when cars are being attacked, they are looking for fuel. Be careful, please!

Scott -- Love the Disney goodies! Are they "jibbitz" ?

Erica -- Sorry your massage was interupted. Hope there isn't a huge car bill with this!

Dave -- Great workouts! You set the pace!

Margie -- Are you still racking up the miles??? You lost the Garmin manual, my DH lost the whole thing!!! He had a 305 I got him for his Birthday last year, I think he threw it away, accidently, when he was cleaning stuff out. I just ordered him a new 205, for his birthday. Hope he can hang onto this one.

Y'all make a great and productive day! -- Connie

Eva - Wierd, sounds like an opportunity event. Ask the neighbors if they saw anything, I would file an information report with your local PD, there may be more afoot.

Connie, lost 305 ouch, get a large building block and attach the 205 with a chain, not only do would you not loose it he will also get the great added benifit of working out with teh added weight.

Dave really does set the pace and Erica is really cooking away at her workouts. Man we all are doing soooooo Well.

Got a run in this morn and will take a rest day tomorrow, then 10K on Sat.

Will get stuff together for that tonight.

Our weather is supposed to cool off for teh weekend so that will be nice.

Later

Scott That's a great idea! I will attach the Garmin to a cinder block and then when he draws his bow.....uhm....maybe not. :rotfl2: He uses it primarily to hunt with. It's such a conveniet size and does everything he needs it too. When he hunts the Rockies in Colorado, it's really easy to lose your way, so......plus he uses it when he rides his bike.

Good Morning Team!

It is a beautiful day today, it has not heated up as fast as the last 2 days. The dogs and I took a short walk, just around the "block" or 1.25 miles, then I took the bike out for a spin (it is a cross training day), tried a new loop, thought it would be 8 to 10 miles, but was only 6.86 miles! Oh well, I am new to this bike riding thing anyway, maybe try to increase the milage next week. It is still very pleasant out, have not closed up the house to avoid the heat yet. I may go out and get some weeding done after this - we have alot of rock and gravel landscaping (this is a desert ya know!), and the weeds are growing like weeds:rotfl2: Last year I sprayed them, but this year I am trying to be a little more environmentally correct, and I have been pulling them, but they are really getting ahead of me!

Connie, thanks for the info on the Route 66 run, one of my goals is to drive Route 66 (as closely as possible) from one end to the other, I thought a run on the route might be fun. I also want to drive route 30, or Lincoln Highway, (which I used to live on when I lived in PA, and here it borders our backyard), and the Lewis and Clark trail, from end to end.

And, yes, those are Jibbitz on Scott's garmin.

Erica - you are doing great! Hope the jeep was not too expensive to repair!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning team.

Please welcome our newest team mate French lady, Diane.

The jeep is off to the repair shop, they haven't called yet with the estimate. I'm expecting that the most expensive part is broken.

I just fixed one of my famous power lunches. If it doesn't make me sick it should be very nutritious. I took pumpernickle bread, topped it with salmon and covered it all with wild rice, then put medium salsa on top.

Walk today was an easy 4 miler, yesterday was hard day so today is easy day.

Have a great day everyone.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Yes wlecome to our new Team Mate Diane. Glad to haev ya with us. Kinda a strange lot we have here but a group with a great heart. Jump on in.

Dave I do hope the Jeep is an easy fix, I know the feeling, we seem to haev the same luck.

They just called it's the crank shaft positioning sensor. Ain't tecnology grand? You just can't work on a car today the way you could back when I was young. The computer age has made them just to complicated. Now if the complicated could mean better darn gas milage!

Off to work Panda:hippie:

WELCOME French Lady!!!

Glad to have you with us. I will send a PM in few minutes with the rules and the postings, etc.

Lynn There isn't much left of old Route 66 , but I would be thrilled to show the parts that are, in this neck of the woods. In the movie CARS, there was a service station....it's actually just 30 miles from my house! It was a busy one, when there was a Route 66.

Dave aka Speedy Panda Your sandwich sounds just ....uhm.....truly......uhm....delightful! Yea that's it. I will stick with delightful! :rotfl: -- Sorry about the jeep. You have to be a computer geek to work on vehicles these days.

That's it for now! Except, don't forget the week ends on June 30! See ya team.

Welcome, Diane! We are so glad you joined our Team!!!! :cool1:

Gym this morning - upper body workout, crunches, 14 miles on the bike, and stretching...Then it was too hot and humid to take Hagen out for a walk. So I will need to do that tonight.

V_R -- Be careful, please!

Connie, yes I have to keep the miles up this week - my goal for June was 200 combined walking/biking miles. As of last week I have 151 miles - I do not count the miles I donate as they are NO longer mine.

Scott, cute Jibbitz on your new Garmin ::yes::

:hippie: crank shaft positioning sensor? Does that mean it's a little chip that needs to be replaced? :confused3 Oh, and No Thanks on joining you for lunch!
