New June - Team Hakuna Matata!

Lynn & Scott: very-very nice job on the bedroom :thumbsup2

Did 4.5 mile walk early this morning then 15.5 miles on the bike tonight. It was still a bit warm, but there is more of a breeze bike riding. More Thunder Storms are moving in.

Connie, I will PM my Miles & Time as soon as I finish this.

Happy Father's Day! ::yes::

Good Morning my fellow Hakuna Matatans!! And a Happy Father's Day to those dad's out there (do we have any dad's on our team?!)

Vicky My best friends husband loves Mario Cart and has since talked my dad into buying it. They both rave about it...have fun!!

Dave You have started everybody salivating with the Spoodles and Bakery talk! My name is Eva and I am a Disney food porn addict. I'm not kidding. I sit and look at the food pic threads all the time...lol. Yuummmm...Micky Bar! :mickeybar Oh and also Dave, I would love to hear stories!! That's the one thing I always loved about working at the airport...the stories I've heard over the years.

Alllllllright people...today is my LR day....I'm on the boards for 6. Slow but sure incline on the miles makes for healthy ankles (my injury-prone area). Check in later!!

Morning Kiddies,

Got in a solid three mile plus this morn at a decent pace. Musta just had a off day yesterday. Good strong run.

Lynn said she got our miles in.

You all are doing great and getting those times and miles in.

Got the closet door fixed and have a pinch of trim to do and then we get to move boxes and set up the exercise room. Boxes of books so we will have plenty of resistance training.

Might read the Sunday paper.

Breakfast was macadamia nut waffles.

Later Kiddies

Happy Father's Day !!!!!

I had a really good week, thanks to no more toe pain!!! 12 miles for me and 3 miles for Mike!!

Is it time to leave for the House of Mouse yet?? I am so ready!!!

Have a great day all!!!

Erica:)

All I wanted to do was strip the bed!

Pulled off the sheets and decided to wash the mattress pad too. We have one of those Sears/Whirpool/Calypso POS machines. Nothing but trouble from day one. Water builds up, smells like a sewer and then Mark has to take it apart and clean. Well the mattress pad smelled worse coming out than going in.. Was I ticked.

Mark and I hauled it out of the cellar, me with a large rope and he doing the backbreaking pushing up the bulkhead stairs. My son Nick has his washing machine stored in our shed and gave us the go ahead to bring it out, and use it.

Load it onto the wheel barrel and to the bulkhead to the cellar. WE manage to bring that one down but Mark notices some rust areas and hope it's not too late.

Connect, plug and run then while finishing up with the sears POS I notice that the cellar is now filling up with water! Run down stairs and stop the machine. Ya it too was no good. Start the clean up process while Mark is singing a not so happy tune that has a lot of choice words. WHAT A MESS.

Off to Lowes to purchase anything but a Whirlpool! Load it onto the truck and home. Haul the 2nd one out and we're about to bring the other one down when the 2 neighbor boys visiting their dad come over to help. Thankfully I didn't have to haul another machine downstairs.

Clothes are clean, the towels I save for those emergencies are clean and I'm beat but in the process I found I'm stronger than I knew, my neck is fine and as the Dr said, I can do anything I want and I did.

Oh and the walk last night didn't happen, we had pasta, a margarita and that was about it.

I hope next weekend turns out better.

Sorry I wasn't around yesterday guys. I was actually trying to say good morning yesterday when my cable internet quit. I hate that. So we were without service yesterday.

Denise, sounds like you had all the fun you could stand yesterday. Good to hear that you did all that lugging and pulling without a problem with your neck. I guess you can say you had your stress test for the year.

Eva, I love Mickey Bars, can't let a trip go without at least one. We are going to be doing a bit of group picnicing on the Tot trip. With the higher cost of everything we plan to take a trip or two to the market for fresh food, like veggie platters sandwich fixings. We drive down so marketing isn't a problem.

Scott and Lynn, a friend from work, who just graduated collage, took a cross country trip and they said there are not many cities in your state. They were worried about running out of gas.

Erica got up with me this morning and we are going walking together as soon as I finish this. We plan on 6 miles. I have my buddy back!!!:cloud9:

Have an awesome day everone and remember how special you all are. We are part of what's right with this crazy world.

Walking Panda:hippie:

Denise, what a mess glad it worked out.

Dave Glad ya have the Internet back, amazing how we feel when we don't have it. Sometimes that is good like on a cruise or trip to the farside of the world.

Glad you got you workout buddy back.

We got the excercise room set up, boxes moved, and there were lots of boxes, cleaned out garage of empty boxes, ready to start some wiring, then insulation, the dry wall, etc etc etc.....

Didn't get out this morn might try for the afternoon when I get home tonight.

Hope ya all had a great weekend and have a great week.

Good Morning Team

Scott and Lynn, a friend from work, who just graduated collage, took a cross country trip and they said there are not many cities in your state. They were worried about running out of gas.

Walking Panda:hippie:

That is true, but it is not bad if you stay on the major roads! Not as bad as Montana - we almost ran out of gas there once on the motorcycles - the one town on the map that we were going to gas up in did not really exist - we coasted into the next town on fumes!!! We kind of like that we are not really populated!! We now live in the big city of Wyoming - 56,000 I think - the whole state has less population that most cities - 500,000!!!

It was a beautiful weekend, the first real summer weather we have had this year! We did spend a good portion of it in the basement working, but did have a "weinie roast" on Saturday night, it was the first time it was calm enough to make a fire in our fire pit in the backyard! Today is cloudy and cool and windy (of course!) - it is supposed to be a cross training day for me, so the dogs will get a short walk, and I will get to try out the workout room which is now set up for business!! (It had been full of boxes while we were working on the "south bedroom", now all the boxes are in the south bedroom, the workout equipment is in the workout room, and the entertainment area is now clear of boxes and workout equipment and ready to be worked on.)

Denise - sounds like you had a trying weekend, glad that the washer issue is now fixed!

Erica - glad that you are getting back to walking distances!

Connie - hope you had a fun weekend!

Have a great day everyone!

Good morning team! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I had two really great runs on the weekend - I felt like I had lots of energy and best of all no pain! I never really thought about it before but I guess the core muscles do play a big part in running.

Scott/Lynn - I made the Babotie on Saturday. It was awesome and the kitchen smelled great from all the spices we used. It brought make memories of Boma and AKL!! DF and I weren't able to find any ground lamb so we used ground veal instead.

Denise - Sorry to hear about all the trouble you've been having with your washing machine. Definitely not a fun way to spend the weekend :( But I'm glad to hear you've got it all sorted out.

Dave/Erica - Have fun on your walk this morning! Hope the weather is nice where you are :)

Kim, Eva, Sue, Margie and everyone else - Hope you're having a fantastic day! :wave2:

Denise: I am glad that you got new washer! It sure is fustrating when they
quit working right!

Scott&Lynn: I am going to make Babotie tonight!! Love the color of the
south bedroom.

Dave and I did a really kewl 6 miler. I am still going for the steps and not time.

Have a great day everybody!!

Erica:)

Have I mentioned how proud I am of my pretty princess? We did a nice 6 miles some of on the cemetery route, very peasefull walking. We have three large cemeteries together and some have very old areas, one even has a civil war memorial and graves of several fallen warriors. Some of their tomestones are stone cannons.

Walking with Erica right now is forceing me to actually do the LSD. I need that and if left on my on it's usually LFD.

Connie, are you home yet sweet captain?

We are off for lunch at Peppers Mexican place and then to see, "Happenings", it came out this weekend and looks interesting.

Walk/run strong dear friends.

Walking Panda:hippie:

Wow everyone seems to be going great these days. We plan on 4 miles tonight. Speaking of core. My PT includes sit ups and stuff so I too will be taking care of the core thing.

I had 2 c-sections and let me tell you that whole lower ab area is a hard sell on the core exercises but like anything else, slow and steady.

Mark and I did them together last night while watching Calendar Girls, a fun movie for us more experienced princesses.

Glad for the most part the weather in all of our team-mates area is for the most part cooperating. Scott & Lynn that workout room sounds fab! Good luck! We have a TM & Ellip in the bedroom and I love them when I'm just too lazy to go out in the cold or it's too dark.

Dave and Erica - nice teamwork. Mark has again started walking with me and it's nice to have him along. He only goes at night because in the early am, he's already at work so it's just my DD Miranda and me. We have fun too. We always walk the first mile as a warm up and then do 3 miles with our Ipods to keep us moving along! Mark likes to dance ahead of us to make us laugh - he plays the air guitar too. What a pill.

We're lucky to have each other both here and at home.

denise

Dave - DBF and I are on our way to see that movie tonight too. We thought it would be a nice night for a ride and a movie. :moped:

Denise - Calendar Girls is a cute movie...haven't seen it since it came out! Sorry about your washing machine issues..I had three floods in my old house and had to replace 3 sets. I know how big of a hassle moving them up stairs is!!

Scott/Lynn - I feel Babotie coming into my meal plan for this week. It sure seems to be a hit!!

It was super nice in NE Ohio today. We had been expecting thunderstorms, but they never came about. I went with my DF and hit a bucket of balls. We had been looking to hit up a Par 3, but my dad is recovering from a bit of Montazuma's Revenge from his recent trip to Nicaragua. So he opted for the driving range...we had a good time. It was nice to get the clubs out...first time this year!! :woohoo:

On to the training: Ran a really good 6 miles yesterday. I had planned on running an out-and-back on the 3 mile rail trail by our house, but when I got out there the deer flies were sooo bad that I couldn't stand heading back when I got to the end. I ended up just running home (which is a little over 3 miles) and had Jordan take me back to my car. I was in my zone though and enjoying myself every step. I LOVE days like that!! Anywho...I am switching up my LR days back to Monday. I find that I get to bed on Sunday nights much earlier than Saturday's and Monday's tend to be a lot less hectic to get the time in. SO my miles and hours might be a bit out of whack again, but as long as I'm getting them in then I'm ok. :thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a lovely night!! GOOOOO TEAM!!!

-Eva

Well we saw the movie "The Happening", Erica liked it, I thought it was dumb. Kung Fu Panda was much better and of course if you haven't seen the Indiana Jones movie and the Narnia movie they are a must.

Erica has swelled feet and ankles. I have heard from a few others on the board that swelling is normal after a surgery like that. Her Dr said so also.

My achillies doesn't like me mowing the yard with the push mower, it's like doing an hour of calf raises. It usually hurts a little for a couple of hours after I'm done.

I think my dear princess has lost it. She is watching that reality show about pet groomers! Watching people trim dogs is right up there with watching paint dry.

Have a super evening y'all.

This is scarry, I would start to worry....

I will take some pictures of Lynn and I brushing the Malamutes.

Lynn got me the Jimmy Buffett DVD, KEWL!!!! It's always 5:00 somewhere. Can't wait to get the home theater room done it will totally rock!!!!.

Today was a day off, we did get some of the exercise room vhs tapes put up. It is ready to go....

Did go out for a two mile walk today with a couple of guys from the office, I am in charge this week so mandatory PT/mental health break.

Eva, being in the sone is soooo KEWL, I can relate.

Erica, goosd to hear the swelling in normal. You are doing so good.

Guess I might have to share another one of my favorite dishes, Legumes and encased hoofed mamal meat products in a sweet tomatoe based sauce. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Might share a great recipe for yellow rice and chicken.

Later kiddies have a good evening.

Good morning Team mates.

Erica and I did a nice 6 miles together yesterday but she has decided to rest today. I was glad to hear her say that since I've been afraid she was coming back to fast. I will miss her this morning when I do my workout.

Gas prices here went down to $3.89 yesterday, could it be the start of some more normal prices?

Who is going to the ToT? We did that event last year and even though the race it's self had a few glitches we had a wonderfull time. Oct is a good time to be at Disney, the weather is nice, although being Florida there is the chance of a rain shower. The group dinner at The Liberty Tree was fun and we had a nice visit with the other WISHers.

I hope everyone is feeling strong today.

Good morning!

I'm already settled in at work and enjoying a cup of tea. Now just need the motivation to do some work.

Last night was pilates. The instructor seemed extra cruel. Man I dislike rollups with the ball.

Dave, I'm in for ToT. Registering for this and the 5k is on this weekends to do list. I've been slack on organizing my training programs. This is also a must do. I need to plan out my fall races and 1/2 in Jan.

Scott, Not the ellusive yellow rice....inside family joke. My mil would bring home a suitcase full of the little packages after wintering in Florida. Seems it's a hard find here in Canada.

Happy Tuesday training.....Sue

I too am at work. We only did 3 miles last night with the plan to do 4 this morning at 5:30 but alas, duty called last night. My son Nick was looking for his sister to use her red sports car in the movie he’s working on. She was with me and that was at 9 last night. So off she went – all excited that her baby was going to be in a shot in the movie. I told her, if she want’s to cancel the morning walk, leave a message on my vm. Sure enough I got up at 5 to find a message saying at 12:31 am, she and her car were still on the set so no morning walk. What a relief, I was too pooped to walk too. We’ll give it a go tonight.

Have a good day all,

denise

Had a sleepless night last night, happens every once in a while, my mind just spins on all sorts of things, so I did not do a morning run, will shoot for this afternoon.

Also at work and got some stuff (reports and time sheets) done already. Looks like I need to make a road trip tomorrow.

Will see if I can get Lynn to post the Yellow Rice and Chicken recipe, as she is a far better typist than I. Sorry Sue it does not involve those little yellow packets, LOL. This puppy is from scratch. Expensive part is the saffron.

Dave you know Lynn and I will be there for the TOT, it was a fun race. Party was too short afterwards, this year will be different. We are staying at BWV for this trip.

Had a bowl of Disney Oatmeal for breakfast here, with artificial blueberries. I wonder if they grow on artificial trees????

Later kids,
