We have our first trip booked the 5-12 of November, It is the first year we are going during teachers convention week. I have heard jokes that disney calls that week New Jersey week. Has anyone been down there that time and is it more crowded than usual for the fall? It will be a great week for pullinlg the kids out from school as election day falls during this week this year and they will only miss two day.s Just wondering :flower:

We've been there many times during "New Jersey week". It is more crowded than some other times in the fall but not awful. Easter and Christmas are a whole lot worse. If you go to the parks early and use fast pass when you can you should not have long lines. It is also the food and wine at EPCOT and the weekends are crowded there. We've always had great weather and enjoyed lots of pool time.

I just double checked my ressies. I'm down there same time.

Now before everyone jumps down my throat, I grew up in Jersey. I also have siblings (and in-laws) that are teachers.

I go on vacation to get AWAY from these people!

Wonder if it's too late to change my ressies?!? :scratchin

It seems like it's been NJ week whenever I'm there in October. We were estimating one trip that at least 1/3 of the people were from NJ. That was based on shows with audience participation where people gave their home state.

you dont happen to have two rooms standard view booked at the bwv's? go ahead if you do and cancel the ressie( only kidding also) God Bless teachers

It will be more crowded than a typical week in November, but it won't be as crowded as the summer, Easter or Christmas. There will be A LOT of people from NJ, and don't be suprised if you run into people you know.

Did that many times......it is crowded, but pleasantly so!!! We always enjoyed that week when the kids were still in school.....They are now college grads......wish they were still little.

They are scoping out their retirement state!!!

Hey, I'm one of them. Just don't want to wait till we retire...Want to go now!!!

We were down this past Nov. for Jersey week (yes, I am ONE OF THEM). I truly didnt' think it was that bad and we normally travel during slow times of the year. However, I think the Fall has become busier overall.

The funny thing is, I was at my son's playgroup today and one of the moms was saying they were there last Jersey week and it was horrible!! She thought it was way too crowded, wait times too long, etc. I guess it all depends on your perspective.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

Last year even the Disney cash resorts (20,000+ rooms) were reportedly at 100% capacity for "Jersey Week."

We've visited WDW for the past two "Jersey Weeks". I honestly have enjoyed these past two visits more than any other time, and we've been nearly every month of the year except July/August.

The weather has been beautiful!

The crowds manageable!

Food and Wine Fest is a blast!

I would not hesitate or cancel :). This year my Jersey family is invading Disneyland instead of WDW so there will be four less of us at WDW. I know us NJ folks have a bad reputation but we've found everyone to be delightful and had lots of nice conversations over the weeks we were there. As a side note there are also lots of folks from the UK as well....again we've met some great folks during this time! ENJOY! Trust me, it'll be fun. Just make your PSs and use your FPs.

...just wanted to add that this past Jersey Week began at the end of October for many of us. Which meant that there was an added incentive to go to WDW....MNSSHP! I think that F&W Fest is gaining in popularity as well. In addition, Super Soap Weekend was beginning at the end of Jersey Week. Typically, I don't think all these factors usually hit at the same time/week. That is my understanding of why it was so super crowded. Add to that all the displaced folks from the hurricane cancelations and you got a whole bunch more people than usual at the world that week. I feel that the crowds last year were not typical of the avg. early November/Jersey Week.
But who knows...I could be wrong?!

Overall, however, it is nothing compared to the holiday periods and we personally did not wait on long lines all week. Maybe it was just luck :confused3 or planning?

I thank all of you for the input, we were down there during hurricane frances, so to see the park with no one we might be in for a shock , but with dvc I know I dont have to fit everything in, I hopefullly will be going back for the rest of my life. yeah yeah yeah

We were at BCV last 11/4-11/7. I was surpised by the crowds but its such a great time to go. Weather is usually very nice and Food and Wine Festival was too. As long as you use Fastpass and make ps you should be just fine!
